This is Achim Bailey, a 23 year old man from Springfield who has been missing since Sunday morning, January 13, after allegedly being kicked out of Samuel’s Tap & Table at the Basketball Hall of Fame for allegedly flirting with a woman who rebuked his advances.

His story has not gotten nearly the coverage that Olivia Ambrose received, and although some suggest that race may be a factor, I think it has more to do with location and gender. Livy Ambrose is a 23 year old woman who disappeared in Boston, the center of the state’s media hub. Achim disappeared in Springfield, which to most people in the Boston metropolitan area might as well be East Buffalo. He is big and strong, she is small and weak. It would be much more likely that she could get kidnapped than him. And sadly, the realist in me finds it impossible to believe that Achim could still be alive.

According to Western Mass News’ James Villalobos, who has been doing great work on this story, the owner kicked him out partly because of the #MeToo hysteria, despite being a regular and well respected customer.

The name of the woman has not been released.

The bar disputed claims that he was drunk, and said they’re reconsidering their policy to throw people out in the cold without knowing if they have a ride home.

There hasn’t been much traction into this case as there is a serious lack of evidence. Sam’s says their cameras were not working, and surveillance footage shows Akim walking north on Hall of Fame Avenue towards Memorial Bridge, which takes you into West Springfield.

However, surveillance footage from 3 AM shows a man the police believe to be Achim Bailey walking in the other direction (south) along the railroad tracks which run parallel to the street Sam’s is on, and the Connecticut River. The last time his cell phone was detected was right around 3 AM, at a power near the South End bridge, which brings you to Route 5 in Agawam. The phone was believed to have been shut off or lost power. And anyone with an iPhone knows that those things lose power in a matter of minutes if it’s cold enough outside. Shutting off his phone voluntarily if he was kicked out of the bar makes no sense whatsoever.

A lot of people are blaming the bar, and I can see their point. If an establishment is going to profit off of getting you inebriated, shouldn’t they bare some responsibility if they arbitrarily decide to kick you out and something bad happens to you? They blamed this on him flirting with a girl, which isn’t illegal. Especially considering the elements, and the fact that this is Springfield, one of the most crime ridden cities in New England. I’m a big fan of personal responsibility, and Achim ultimately made the decision to drink and do whatever he did to get kicked out of the bar. But surely they bare some responsibility for this. You can’t just kick someone out in the freezing cold by themselves, after taking their money and feeding them liquor, and then blame him entirely if he disappears. They have an ethical responsibility to make sure he has a cab or an Uber.

Well, the story had a big development today after it was reported that a volunteer found Achim’s cell phone:

“Prior to the police arriving in the area under the bridge Friday, one of the volunteers found a cellphone that he said he discovered while walking along the tracks. The phone was placed in a bag and handed over to police. The man and others said they turned on the phone before placing it in the bag, and that it showed several message alerts from people to Bailey. A reporter from The Republican did not see any of the messages on the phone.”

Wait….what? It’s been 12 days since he disappeared, and some random volunteer finds the phone on the tracks, and then turns it on and sees he’s got a bunch of messages?? There’s no way in hell that’s possible. An iPhone would’ve died in those conditions in less than an hour. And mind you, it snowed since then, so the phone would’ve been covered water by the time it all melted. The cops have obviously scoured this area, and since they’re the professionals they likely would’ve found it before it snowed. Oh, and it’s on a railroad track, so a train would’ve destroyed it.

And what does this volunteer do when he “finds” it? He just turns it on. It just worked no problem. There is no way possible this story is legitimate.

Now, I’m not here to wrongly accuse anyone of wrongdoing considering the seriousness of this crime. But this “volunteer” can’t stop bragging about what he did on the Find Achim Facebook page. This was posted at 12:43 PM on Friday, January 25.

So the “volunteer” screwed up the evidence by putting his fingers all over it. Unless of course he’s more than just a volunteer, and those fingerprints were there from the beginning. Again, this is not me accusing him (yet), it’s just pointing out the obvious.

This is Dante Pagan, the guy who found the phone.

He commented on the post.

“Doing what God wants me to do.” So God told him to go searching for the phone. And when he found the phone he was going to leave it there so police could carefully log it in as evidence, but instead he picked it up, opened it, turned it on, and put it in a plastic bag to keep it away from the homeless people who were now wandering the railroad tracks.

On another post, instructing people to stay away from the scene, Dante bragged about how he found the phone, and took shots at the police for looking in the wrong place.

It gets better. He says he was out there at 5 AM.

So he woke up before 5 to go to the railroad tracks and search? Do you understand how dark it is at 5 AM? You’d never be able to find anything. And he didn’t find the phone until 9 AM, which means he searched for FOUR HOURS? Are you kidding me? And he did this randomly by himself? What a hero!

The part that really was strange for me was when he said, “Just want to bring closure to the family and hopefully put him to rest.”

What is that supposed to mean? Put him to rest? Interesting choice of words.

According to his post on Wednesday, in which he virtue signaled about searching for Achim, these two did NOT know each other.

Yet he still refers to Achim as a friend, and says that God is going to bring closure.

On the day after Achim disappeared Dante made sure to share the Springfield PD’s post about him.

Not that unusual, but just random to do for someone you don’t know.

Meanwhile he was over on the Find Achim page soaking in all the pats on the back he was getting for “finding” this critical piece of evidence, while thanking God for not only inspiring him to do it, but for guiding him to the right spot.

He kept talking and talking and talking though. He started hypothesizing that the phone fell out of Achim’s pocket, but insisted the phone still worked and had been shut off. He also chastised others who were not searching with him.

Because he’s the hero here, not them. Also, it makes no sense that Achim would turn his phone off after getting kicked out of the bar. He would need his phone to call for a ride home. The story he’s telling about finding the phone and turning it on is a flat out lie. If he’s willing to lie about that then what else is he lying about?

The cops are now searching the area of the river where the phone was found, which Dante claims is not the area they searched previously. Unless of course where the cops were searching previously was getting too close to wherever Achim is.

He also claimed that the phone was found where you can “actually fall to the river,” which sounds a lot like a bridge to me, not the railroad tracks.

When TJ Allen went missing in Sterling CT in late 2016, two boys responsible for disposing of his body were part of the search party. A killer pretending to look for a missing person’s body often does so because they’re psychos, and also to turn the search party away from where the body is. And for a guy who doesn’t know Achim, he certainly seems to know a LOT about the investigation.

Almost like he’s following it for a reason.

He claims he’s not a suspect, and that he grabbed the phone and contaminated the evidence because a train was going to run over it. He also admitted, without being asked, that his prints would be all over the phone as a result.

Yet no train ran over it for 12 days prior to that. Yet a train was about to run it over right when he found it, leaving him no choice but to grab it.

Then he wrote this long winded sentagraph in which he told friends of Achim to stop talking so much “shot,” told them to get their “fax” straight, said he was conducting his own search for days, bragged about it, once again mentioned his prints being on the phone, and all at the behest of God himself.

He wouldn’t stop talking about how God told him to find this guy’s phone, and said he was “religious in my own way.”

Let’s take a look at some of his Facebook posts. You tell me what religion endorses stuff like this:

God hates flat brimmed Chicago Bulls hats. That’s just science. God also abhors violence.

Multiple death threats on the President and telling Secret Service to suck his schmenzer. Yea, this guy is wicked religious and totally doesn’t have violent inclinations. And those were all posted in the days right after Achim was last seen.

On the day Achim disappeared he posted this at 8:52 AM.

Took me a while to get to it because he posts dozens of times a day, usually just dumb stuff like three cats having a bisexual threesome.

He posted on January 13, hours before Achim was seen for the last time, at 12:58, and then again at 8:27 AM.

Earlier in the night he posted that he “really feel like dying.”

Later on January 13 he posted that he was “so stress to the fucking max” and needed to smoke.

Because evidently his baby momma wouldn’t let him see his daughter, and stated that people should “never trust a female.”

Remember, he’s religious. God inspired him to find the phone. Lots of religious people talk like this.

He’s such a great guy though, and if this clue leads to Achim being found he is going to turn down the $6K reward from the family. Look what else he says after that:

He works 5 days a week for 12 hours a day? I implore you to spend some time looking at his timeline. He literally posts dozens and dozens of times per day. What kind of 12 hour a day job affords you that much free time? According to his LinkedIn he’s a forklift operator.

Today he’s been bragging non-stop about his heroism, and how he’s “proud of myself.”

“A step closure to finding you and put your souls to rest.”

That is someone speaking with 100% conviction that the man he is looking for is dead. Just sayin.

Dante Pagan does not have many Google trophies, asides from an arrest in Wilbraham for driving on an unregistered motor vehicle.

Am I saying he’s a murderer? No, because I don’t have proof of that. But I know as a matter of fact that his story about the phone can’t possibly be true. I know that he’s acting just like tons of other killers have done in the days and weeks after killing someone, by constantly being around the scene of the crime, which is even shadier since he has no connection to Achim. And I also know that when he was questioned about some of these things he immediately threatened violence and demanded to meet up with people.

I’m sure the good folks in the Springfield Police and MSP are conducting their investigation thoroughly and if this guy is a suspect they will get to the bottom of it. Stay tuned.
