According to the latest discovery filings in the Karen Read case, the prosecution has found Chloe.
Nicole Albert testified that Chloe was “re-homed” to someone in Vermont. We don’t know who. We don’t know what town. We don’t know the town she testified she met the new owner halfway at. We haven’t seen the paperwork. We haven’t even seen a picture of Chloe confirming she is alive. We don’t have arm tissue samples from John’s arm that could be tested for dog DNA.
According to the discovery the Commonwealth is not actually providing the dog as evidence – just the identification documents. If I know anything about how these corrupt people operate it’s that they will most likely have Brian Tully testify that he met Chloe, confirmed it was Brian Albert’s former dog, and say that he examined the teeth and they don’t align with the dog bites on John O’Keefe’s arm.
Never in a million years would they give the defense access to the dog itself. Never in a million years would they allow the new owner of Chloe to testify, if Chloe is even alive, which I doubt she is. Never in a million years will they actually provide paperwork showing new ownership of the dog. Never in a million years would the Commonwealth take the risk of having an independent dog bite expert examine the real Chloe’s teeth to see if they align with the marks on John’s arm, if they didn’t already know what the hand picked expert planned on testifying.
My question is, if Chloe is really alive then why didn’t they do this during the first trial? Hank Brennan knows that the case against Karen Read is weak, and the case against the McAlberts is strong. And the mere fact that he’s using his time and resources to try to disprove the dog bites shows that he is losing. The dog bites would prove that the McAlberts murdered John O’Keefe. A lack of dog bites would NOT prove that Karen Read murdered John O’Keefe. It’s his job to prove that a smooth tail light caused the marks on John’s arm without any bruising to accompany them. And he’ll never, ever be able to do that, because everyone with a basic understanding of science knows that John O’Keefe was never hit by a car.
