The toddler’s father, Jose Morales, is currently in the custody of New Haven Police on unrelated weapons charges. Police discovered two stun guns in Morales’ possession. As a convicted felon, he is not permitted to own weapons. NBC Connecticut Reports:

“Police said they have been in touch with the child’s father, who is cooperating with the investigation. He was arrested by New Haven police Tuesday on weapons charges that Ansonia police said are unrelated to the homicide or missing person case.

Investigators said they are following up on tips from around the state. On Thursday investigators were searching a Kiducation distribution center on State Street in Hamden after evidence was found in a donation bin. Police did not specify what those items were, but confirmed they were found by an employee who reported it.”

He remains in custody in lieu of a $250,000 bond, and has been named as a suspect in Ms. Holloway’s murder.

Vanessa Morales is one year old with brown hair and brown eyes, approximately 17 lbs and 2’2″ tall. There is no information on what she could be wearing, and police say there is currently no reason to believe she has been taken out of the state of Connecticut.

She is presumed to be alive and safe. Anyone with any information on Vanessa’s whereabouts  is urged to contact Ansonia police at 203-735-1885 or the FBI at 1-800-225-5324.
