Assumption University Students Attempt To Go Tik Tok Viral As Predator Poachers Ends Up With Kidnapping, Assault, Conspiracy Charges After Victim Is Lured To Meet 18 Year Old On Campus

Five Assumption University students were arraigned today on charges including kidnapping, witness intimidation, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy, stemming from an incident in October involving a viral Tik Tok stunt. As we’ve written about many times before, vigilante “predator poachers” often do a great job helping police identify pedophiles by pretending to be underage children and luring their would be rapists to meet up. However, this “to catch a predator” challenge has become a trend on Tik Tok, and it’s led to a lot of people doing it who don’t know how to do it right. And what happened with these 6 idiots is a prime example of how it should be left up to the professionals on YouTube.

A 22 year old man met a girl named Kelsy Brainard on Tinder. Kelsy is an 18 year old freshman at Assumption College.

People use Tinder for one reason and one reason alone – to hook up. It’s the whole point of the app. So she invited this guy to meet her in her dorm room, so he clearly thought he was gonna get lucky. Unfortunately for him it turned into a nightmare. According to Assumption University Police Sgt. Chris Shea’s report, he was alerted by Worcester Police to an assault and battery that occurred on campus at Alumni Residential Hall. When he went to Alumni Hall he me with Kelsey Brainard who told him that Moynihan had come to campus looking to meet a 17 year old girl, that he was a sexual predator who had initiated unsolicited contact with her on Tinder, and that he was creepy and came uninvited.

As it turns out, all of that was a lie.

The victim told police that Kelsy Brainard invited him to her dorm, and once he went downstairs to a lounge area a group of people (mostly college aged men) burst out of hiding places, grabbed him, prevented him from leaving, and ended up assaulting him and slamming his head with the car door once he finally escaped to his vehicle. Surveillance video backed up the victim’s story, and shows Brainard escorting him into the building. It also showed the mob of students all filming him on their phones.

Surveillance video goes on to show the mob of student high fiving each other after the assault was over and the victim escaped, including Kelsy Brainard. There is no way Kelsey couldn’t have known this was going to happen, and she was called out for being a fake victim in the police report. She is seen on video laughing during the encounter, in which the real victim is seen being struck in the back of the head, and didn’t seem the least big uncomfortable with the victim. The false report of a sexual offender on campus caused a sense of alarm at the quiet private university.

Although it was a mob of dozens of students, it appears as if only a small handful were in on the plan to kidnap this poor guy. Brainard, from Holyoke, was charged with kidnapping, conspiracy, and witness intimidation (for misleading a police officer in a criminal investigation).

Kevin Carroll, who appears to be an Eagle Scout from Holden, was charged with kidnapping, conspiracy, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon for smashing the victim’s head with the car door.

I guess he earned his kidnapping merit badge with flying colors.

Kevin lives in my town. Four years ago when I ran for School Committee I wrote about his mother Stacey Carroll, because she led the crusade to make sure I didn’t get elected. Here are some of her unhinged rantings.

This woman didn’t want me to serve on the School Committee because I’m bad for children or something. Meanwhile her son is the kind of kid who was raised to lure, kidnap, and assault strangers with a deadly weapon. I couldn’t be prouder that people like this don’t like me.

Joaquin Smith from West Haven, CT is on the track team at Assumption, and was charged with kidnapping and conspiracy.

Isabella Trudeau is a nursing major from Sterling and attended Notre Dame Academy where she excelled in field hockey and lacrosse. She was invited to the Statehouse as a junior for Massachusetts Student Government day, where she met with State Rep Meghan Kilcoyne to discuss passing legislation that allows 16 year olds to vote. She is also being charged with one count each of kidnapping and conspiracy.

Easton Randall, an Assumption baseball player from Jericho, VT was also charged with kidnapping and conspiracy.

Kelsy Brainard attempted to throw Easton Randall under the bus by saying that he was responsible for everything. But the problem with that is that it was her Tinder account that was used to message and lure the victim to Alumni Hall. Nowhere in the Tinder messages does she pretend to be underage. In fact, she told the victim that she’s 18 and wanted to hook up.

So why would Randall and other co-conspirators be waiting in hiding to attack a “child predator?” Turns out he was sitting with Kelsy one day when she began sexting with the victim on Tinder. He and the other co-conspirators began making suggestions on how they could lure the guy to campus to stage a viral Tik Tok video. The boys all live on the third floor of the dorm and have a floor group chat. Joaquin Smith alerted dozens of dorm residents that the victim was coming to campus to meet an “underage” girl, and they all waited in hiding to ambush him.

The report made it clear that the victim is in fact a victim, not a predator. He was not trying to meet up with an underage girl, and a criminal conspiracy was hatched to dozens of people riled up to kidnap and assault him, based off of the lie that he was there to have sex with a minor. Isabella Trudeau attempted to make excuses for her friend Kelsy Brainard by saying that the guys made her do it.

But no one made her do anything. At any point Brainard could’ve stopped this. It was her phone and her Tinder account that was used to lure him there. But beating the shit out of the innocent victim wasn’t enough. She also tried to get him jammed up as a child sex predator to police, while presenting herself as the innocent victim.

My question is, how did they think they weren’t gonna get caught? They knew that in the messages Brainard said she was 18. They had to have known that the victim would go to the police and that they’d read the Tinder messages. The mere fact that this guy was looking to meet up with a college student on campus indicates that he wasn’t there to have sex with a kid.

What makes this even more evil is that the goal of the whole thing was to go viral on Tik Tok by framing this guy as a pedophile, when they all knew that he wasn’t. They were willing to completely destroy this guy so they could get likes and followers.

The problem is that they involved way too many people actually believed this guy was a pedophile. When you get this many young, stupid, 18-19 year old men all riled up together, bad things are likely to happen. There is nothing worse than being labeled as a pedophile, so although their goal might not have been for this guy to get his head smashed in, the chances that it would result in violence were high.

Either way, Kelsy Brainard and the rest of them were seen laughing about the assault after it happened, despite knowing the guy was completely innocent, so they’re clearly depraved individuals who deserve to have the book thrown at them.

The bottom line is that if you’re gonna deputize yourself as an online predator poacher, you have to do it the right way. The conspirators told the mob that the victim was there to meet a 17 year old. That’s not even against the law. Anyone who follows predator poachers knows that you have to pretend to be 14 or younger, or it loses the shock value. Then again, it wouldn’t make sense for a victim to meet with a 12 year old at a college campus, so 17 was as low as they could go.

  1. Yeah I’m sure this guy doesnt want to do a sit down with the 🐢! Pretty sure it’s the last thing he wants to do after all that shit happened! No offence to the 🐢, I’m just saying this guy is probably wishing he never went on Tinder at this point!!

  2. No mommy no daddy it wasn’t me I swear! Throw the damn book at these entitled brats. I’m sure the college and parents taught them their actions have zero consequences!

    1. Exactly that is the problem these days – no consequences allows these lil a-holes to do what ever they want. I told my kids when they were teens I’m not here to be friends I’m here to teach and guide you, later in life you’ll appreciate it and then we will be friends. Both are doing well at ages 30 & 26 and guess what I’m still mom and we are friends, and talk daily.

  3. “on how they could lure the guy to campus to stage a viral Tik Tok video.”

That’s it – this is what society has arrived at. Seeking the validation of strangers through digital air that’s worth nothing less than ant droppings.

    Throw away the key.

  4. I hope the police and the school throw the book at these fuckin douchebags. Should be expelled, no refund and prosecuted to the fullest. Wanna make stoopid shit stop? Throw the book at the fuckwads.

    1. I especially enjoy seeing the snotty biatch from Norte Dame ( pronounced “notra dom” if you are an affected parent of a spoiled brat attending NDA you know-the bleach blonde, lulu and ray-ban wearing trophy wives in the behemoth GMCs that they can’t park in 2 spaces ,let alone one, have NDA stickers plastered on the back of their tanks next to the NTK stickers).

  5. Some of these kids seem like decent kids who should get a second chance in court. I know we’re not big fans of that here. But I’m one of those people who got a second chance in court and cleaned up. I want to see these kids punished too but I don’t feel I can in good faith support that with my history.

Some of these kids have done far worse than what I got a second chance for and they should have to suffer consequence. The evil bitch that arranged the whole thing. She deserves to have a felony hang over her head for the next 60 years of her life. She knew what she was doing.

    3. We’ve all done stupid shit. Throwing TVs off a building when we were drunk or whatever. This wasn’t a fleeting lapse in judgment. It was a meticulously planned crime.
    4. It’s a miracle the Moynihan kid wasn’t killed.
    5. I’ve seen people on FB write “I heard students at Assumption were smart”. No. No you did not. 87% acceptance rate in a low performing self selected cohort.
    6. Forget what MADOC claims about PREA. Your priority, now, is figuring out which prison is statistically the least likely to be sexually assaulted.

  11. My favorite quote from the founder of modern political thought is “Violence is a monopoly of the State.” Close behind is, ““No arts; no letters; no society; and which is worst of all, continual fear, and danger of violent death; and the life of man, solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short.” That’s Hobbes. And i don’t mean the tiger. This is where we are.
