Boston Public Schools Hires Math Teacher Despite Arrest For Assaulting Two Stoughton Cops, Inappropriate Facebook Posts

To become a teacher you have to go through a CORI background check, interview well, and beat out other qualified candidates. That’s what Kevin Saint Dick from Boston did to get a job teaching math at the prestigious Snowden International School in the Back Bay.

Yes, that’s right. Saint Dick. That’s his real name.

Snowden International School in Boston’s Back Bay is a swanky school for smart kids who have to take four years of foreign language and they offer lots of AP courses. And although he’s only been there since the beginning of the year, he has been teaching in the Boston Public Schools since 2010.

This is an interesting hire considering that during the summer of 2010 he was arrested for assaulting two Stoughton police officers:

Stoughton police broke up a monster house party that started as a family gathering, turned into jam-packed pandemonium and ended with officers pepper-spraying a group of thugs who ripped off their shirts and challenged the cops to a fight. Police showed up on Curtis Avenue on Saturday night after the party hosts called to report their soiree had gotten out of hand. They found more than 150 people in the crowd and radioed for help from state police as well as the Brockton, Canton and Randolph departments.

“This is a very dangerous scenario,” Police Chief Paul Shastany said. “It could have turned deadly.”

The homeowners and a parent called police about 10:50 p.m. to ask for help clearing the crowd from the street and from inside the split-level home. Four Stoughton officers moved through the crowd, instructing people to leave. When police went into the house they found youths packed “shoulder-to-shoulder,” Shastany said.

They also found Kevin Saint-Dick, 23, of 116 Bradley St., Hyde Park. Saint-Dick, who stands about 6 feet tall, weighs 280 pounds and has a muscular build, refused requests to leave. As one officer attempted to escort Saint-Dick off the premises, he pulled his arm away and barged up the staircase where he collided with Stoughton patrolman John Bonney. Two officers tried to place Saint-Dick under arrest but he grabbed onto a railing and held on. Shastany said a crowd of youths approached the officers and they were ordered to step back. When they refused, the officers sprayed the crowd with pepper spray.

Police radioed for mutual aid from the state, Brockton, Canton, and Randolph police departments to break up the crowd. Shastany said the crowd had diminished to about 50 when several young men removed their shirts, punched at the air and challenged the officers to a fight, using obscenities and vulgar slang for police officers. Police used pepper spray against the shirtless youths and they dispersed, police said.

It took three or four officers to hoist Saint-Dick into a police cruiser, Shastany said. Saint-Dick was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and two counts of assault and battery against a police officer.

Yes, that’s right – the BPS hired this guy despite getting arrested for assaulting two cops in Stoughton in 2010. This guy got the same background check as Genduso apparently. Guess it happens in schools too. Sure, the BPS is supposed to do a CORI check, but the guy showed up in a sweater with carpenter jeans, so I guess he looked trustworthy when he wasn’t topless.

He’s not a regular teacher though – he’s the cool teacher who takes selfies with kids and dresses like a backup dancer in a 90’s rap video.

He posts really appropriate things on his wide open Facebook too.

Pretty sure today is a school day, and he was posting memes about the importance of felatio and plus sized women. Your tax dollars at work.

I guess he deserves the job because….

He’s not white. Therefore black students can magically learn from him in ways that they can’t learn from white teachers.

Here’s an idea – if you’re looking to diversity your teaching staff, maybe find a guy who checks the right boxes but hasn’t been arrested for assaulting cops in Stoughton.
