Criminal Justice Reform Coalition Hires Violent Ex-Con With Open Felony Domestic Violence Case To Speak In Front Of Needham Women’s Group
This is a multi-part blog series investigating the background of Franklin “Jussie” Baxley, the man who videotaped a woman at a dog park in Attleboro while she was calling the cops on him for harassing her. He lied and said she was calling because his dogs were humping her dogs. Although this might’ve been the initial cause for her concern, he escalated the situation by refusing to put his dogs on a leash after she asked, and then began following her around the park as she asked him nicely to stop. Read Part 1 here, part 2 here, and part 3 here. It documents his past history as a convicted criminal in many states, a disbarred “lawyer,” and a man who still has an open felony case for assault against a woman.
Part 4 will document how Franklin has profited off of race-baiting for most of his life, and how he bleeds well-intentioned white liberals out of their money by presenting himself as a reformed ex-con, even though he’s far from it. Franklin understands how the racism-industrial complex works. You create racism, then you profit off of it by selling the cure for it. Obviously racism still exists in American society today, no rational person denies that. The problem is it’s not nearly as common as people like Franklin need it to be. That’s why people like Franklin and Jussie Smollett have to make up hate crimes. Because the demand for racism exceeds the supply.
Franklin is the interim executive director of Criminal Justice Reform Coalition, which is part of or endorsed by Mass Inc.
Much like the now defunct Mosaic Cultural Complex, which we did a series exposing three years ago, CJRC is a non-profit that employs ex-cons because it’s easier than getting a real job. Non-profits receive grants from donors and the government which they dispense to their employees as they see fit. Franklin received his position in 2017 and used it to lobby legislators at the Statehouse for a criminal justice reform bill that amongst other things reduces sentences for drug dealers, which is convenient because Franklin spent time in jail for selling drugs.
Franklin uses the racism-industrial complex to profit by getting paid to do speaking gigs about such topics as the “School to Prison Pipeline,” which criticizes schools that suspend students who violate school rules, and lobbies to keep police officers out of public schools.
He has had his law license suspended in both Massachusetts and New York for disciplinary reasons that are not listed, and used to work for the law firm Robinson Donovan in Springfield as a discrimination attorney.
But according to him he now makes more money working for the SJRC.
Which is quite possible when you supplement it with other ways he makes money.
However, Franklin was arrested in 2018 by the Pawtucket Police and currently has an open case for felony domestic violence A&B.
And he had this to say about the victim.
He continues to threaten people with physical violence in the comments, as well as the woman in the video whose address he has posted numerous times.
So my question is, why does the CJRC continue to employ him as executive director? Especially when he posts blatantly racist, sexist, and demeaning things about women. I understand that the CJRC believes in giving ex-cons a second chance at life, which is certainly a noble venture. However, when someone posts that the victim in his felony domestic violence case is a “whore home wrecker,” who “probably prostitutes herself in the champagne room of Foxy Lady,” they’re proving that they are in no way, shape or form “reformed.” To demean sex workers, most of who buy drugs off of convicted drug dealers like Franklin, makes it even hypocritical. Why is a legitimate non-profit, that takes in hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in grants, employing this man as their public face? Simple – they need a well spoken black man with a criminal record. He is their token.
Someone posted on the SJRC about their concern with Franklin’s public behavior.
When he attempted to contact the CJRC on Facebook this is what happened.
Either Franklin is allowed to run their page or the organization explicitly condones his behavior. My guess is it’s the former, but either scenario is troubling. This man should not be employed by a legitimate non-profit.
We tried to contact attorney Eric Tennen, since he is listed as the Chairman of the SJRC, but he did not return our phone call. You can find his law firm Swomley-Tennen LLP on Facebook, and they do have a review section. Please DO NOT flood them with negative reviews, nor should you contact them with your concerns at (617) 227-9443 unless you have a problem with Attorney Tennen employing a violent, misogynistic ex-con as the face of SJRC.
At the June 29, 2017 School to Prison Pipeline lecture he was paid to be there by the National Education Association, the second largest teacher’s union in the country. Teachers are forced to pay dues to the NEA and this is what they spend it on – paying a violent, sexist career criminal who has never taught before to lecture teachers about why holding students responsible for their behavior is racist.
People like Franklin use the racism-industrial complex to milk money out of wealthy progressive white people. He knows who has all the money, and he knows the right buzzwords to use. As Robert “Boo Shameek” Alston put it when he was employed by Mosaic, you just need to “play on that white guilt” and try to find a bunch of “dumb n words that’s trying to change their lives,” and you’ll be “sitting on a conglomerate, an untapped source of power and unlimited source of income.”
This almost perfectly describes the mentality of Franklin Baxley. And to the surprise of no one Franklin summonsed former Mosaic employee Michael Jerry, who was kicked out of a City Council meeting for threatening former Councillor Michael Gaffney after we exposed that he was lying on his time sheets and Mosaic was defunded (look at the dates).

Here’s what Franklin Baxley posted today in regards to Mr. Jerry.
Again, he is looking for Uncle Turtleboy’s address, presumably so he can show up and threaten him in person. He has posted the addresses of multiple people as a way to intimidate them, including the poor woman in the video whose life he is trying to ruin by labeling her as a racist.
Later in 2017 he was paid to speak in Needham by the League of Women Voters of Needham, a progressive organization.
This is the ideal crowd for Franklin to speak to. He knows how to do what Boo Shameek advised him to do – say the right buzzwords to the right people and profit off of it. Needham is an extremely wealthy but overwhelmingly white and liberal town. The audience he’s speaking too is entirely white, and they are looking for charity cases of color like Franklin to throw money at in order to alleviate themselves of the guilt they feel for being wealthy and white.
But Franklin is an openly sexist individual who was arrested months ago for felony assault and battery on a woman. I would expect that a woman’s group would openly condemn someone like this. Feel free to contact the Needham Women’s Group on Facebook to voice your concerns, as they update their page quite frequently, and they have a review section as well if you don’t hear back from them.
Franklin makes his money off of white guilt. Just read some of the comments on his Facebook page from white people who continue to support him even after being confronted with his criminal background.
Gregory Kato is one of the “good white people” because he “calls out racism” on Facebook. And by “calls out racism” he means, “goes out of his way to stand up for a violent woman beating drug dealer because he’s black and it will help ease Gregory of the tremendous guilt he feels for only associating with other white people socially.”
Others suggested that because Franklin is black it means he was unfairly accused of criminality.
In other words, Adam Ritz does not believe women who were victims of domestic abuse. But that doesn’t stop him from pretending he’s not a sexist who hates women. And he’s got the hat to prove it.
Another person supporting Franklin who he still associates with is Reginald Ransom Dore.
In 2013 Ransom Dore and two others sought to go “bum hunting” in Providence, which involves beating a homeless person for no reason. Instead they found a Providence College student and seriously injured and robbed him. Ransom Dore stomped on his head, rendering him unconscious.
The victim of this vicious attack, who was completely innocent, randomly targeted, and still effected by this today, “had it coming, just like you,” according to Franklin Baxley.
This is who a man working for a criminal justice non-profit chooses to associate with and support the violent criminal behavior of. A violent, gang-banging drug dealer.
This whole stunt was planned by Franklin, and he was waiting for something like this to happen so he could cash in. He readily admits that he conned the national media into falling for it.
And in messages to us he could not understand why we wouldn’t fall for his race baiting scam.
For the record, Franklin’s own mother is not black, and he recently shared this image for pity considering his new found fame.
He’s just milking the tiny percentage of his identity that he knows is profitable because an ex-con like him can’t get a real job.
Stay tuned for Part 5.
