Family Accuses Plymouth Man Using Alleged Veteran Status To Raise Money For Dialysis Of Lying About Service, Man Denies Wrongdoing But Refuses To Show Paperwork

Last night I published a blog about a Plymouth couple that started a questionable GoFundMe because the man (Joshua Souther) allegedly needed $1500 for dialysis a couple weeks after getting married to his wife Malarie, or else he would die!

I thought it was suspicious because they claimed that he was a veteran, which would mean that his copay would be covered by the VA if he couldn’t afford it. He also had a long history of junkie behavior to go along with the couple’s overall junkie demeanor. Then today my suspicions were confirmed when I found this post from a cousin.

Well, would you look at that? He steals entire turkeys from relatives on Thanksgiving, and then takes their army uniforms to pose for pictures on Facebook and pretend that he served his country.

This guy, a junkie?

Never saw that one coming!

Others attempted to warn people who donated that they were being scammed, but the donors didn’t seem to care because they would prefer to live in a fantasy world where people like this can be trusted to do the right thing.

“Maybe he’s trying really hard to get sober.”

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Right. That would explain why he’d lie about being a veteran in order to raise money for something that would be covered if he was. Let’s give him $1,500 and hope that this is the time he decides to turn his life around.

In the name of fairness and balance I did message Johnny 12 Steps on Facebook to see what he had to say.

So he has his DD214’s, he’s just not going to show me. Sounds legit.
