Lindsey Gaetani Served With $2 Million Defamation Lawsuit For Libelous Online Postings About Turtleboy, More Lawsuits To Come

 

As an adamant supporter of the First Amendment I fully support legitimate public criticism people have about me and anyone else they don’t agree with. I’ve made a career doing the same thing, and fully support the right to make online postings about people, regardless of whether or not it offends anyone else. I’ve been sued for defamation many times, but I’ve never lost a lawsuit (or ever made it to trial since they all get dismissed) because all of the statements I’ve made have either been opinion, factually true, or statements I believed to be true. I am human, so when I get things wrong I admit it.

However, the line on speech is drawn when outright lies are published that damage people’s reputations. Over the years I’ve watched as people have called me racist, homophobic, and a variety of other things that I’m not. Filing lawsuits isn’t easy or cheap, and for that reason I let a lot of that go. It would also be tough to prove that calling me a racist is defamatory, because viewing someone as a racist could be seen as an opinion, and thus arguably protected speech. The bar for defamation in this country is high, as it should be, in order to protect the right to speak freely.

But the line is drawn when you make up outright factual lies about me that severely damage my character. Over the last year or so online critics of my journalism have posted things about me as statements of fact, not as their opinion, that they know are not true. These include accusing me of or calling me:

• rapist
• pedophile
• bestiality
• called pedophilia a “kink”
• fired from teaching
• sexually harassed a 14 year old
• had sex with a student
• is addicted to drugs
• blackmailed women with revenge porn
• admitted to rape
• stalked a minor at her work and threatened to kidnap her
• lost custody of my kids
• posted naked pictures of children online
• abused my children
• have to see my kids under supervision
• detoxed in jail
• DCF opened a file after rotted food was found in my house

I can no longer sit back and allow these lies to be posted about me on social media. Three weeks ago I filed a lawsuit in Worcester Superior Court seeking $2 million in damages, as well as injunctive relief, for libelous and slanderous statements made by the “Fake Victim” Lindsey Gaetani. The FV has lied about being pregnant, having multiple abortions of my imaginary unborn son Clay, being assaulted by me, and being the victim of witness intimidation. All of that will be proven to be untrue in my criminal cases. However, she has also repeatedly lied on social media about me being a rapist, a pedophile, a drug addict, and a felon – all of which are not only untrue, but that she knows to be untrue. Here is the lawsuit we filed:

We just listed a small sampling of the lies in the lawsuit, which she was served with this week. However, there are many, many more examples from her Twitter account, which she deactivated after a video was released of her threatening to murder a Mansfield woman and her children:

The last thing I wanted to do was amplify these disgusting lies about rape, especially involving her. Although her lies were the reason I was wrongfully incarcerated for 60 days I was hoping that once I got out we both could move on with our lives and I’d never hear from her again. Unfortunately she hasn’t stopped. The Fake Victim went to the Medfield Police in March of 2024 to answer questions about a wiretapped video she sent me in October of 2023 from a hidden Ring video in her bedroom. It was only after she was accused of a crime that she decided to accuse me of raping her 5 months prior. MPD investigated it, reviewed video footage, and determined that no evidence existed of any sort of sexual assault.

She is far from the only person defaming me though, and will not be the only person I am suing. We will be suing at least 4 other people, but I will not be saying who until the lawsuits are filed. However, with that said, here are some examples of defamatory statements made online that we believe constitute defamation:
