Little Known Fact: The Most Popular Team In Kansas Is The Kansas City Chiefs
The front page story for CNN, the New York Times, and every other mainstream media “news” outlet was Donald Trump’s now deleted tweet congratulating the people of Kansas on the Chiefs Super Bowl victory.
“Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs on a great game, and a fantastic comeback, under immense pressure. You represented the Great State of Kansas,” President Trump tweeted.

After the Kansas City Chiefs won their first Super Bowl in 50 years, President Trump tweeted congratulating the team's fans and the state of Kansas.

As it turns out, the Kansas City Chiefs play in the largest city in Missouri. Thus the bounty of Orange man dumb memes that have been circulating the Internet.
I don’t doubt that Donald Trump thought that the Chiefs played in Kansas. However, Kansas City is in both Missouri and Kansas. They play in Missouri, in a city the size of Boston, whereas Kansas City, KS has a population the size of Springfield, MA.
Trump said that the great people of Kansas were represented well by this team. That’s because, they were. The Chiefs are the most popular team in Kansas.
As a matter of fact, the most popular team in any sport in Kansas, is the Chiefs. Whereas Missouri’s most popular is the St. Louis Cardinals.
This is like Trump congratulating the people of New Hampshire on the Patriots winning the Super Bowl, or the people of New York on the Giants winning the Super Bowl, since the Giants play in New Jersey and the Patriots play in Massachusetts.
Worst. Controversy. Ever.
