Lowell National Grid Employee Posts Meme On Facebook Referring To Police Officer’s Funeral As “Taking Out The Trash”

Daniel Martin is a National Grid employe from Lowell.

He does not like the police, despite working them frequently on the job, and has dedicated his wide open Facebook page (which I expect him to take down within 30 minutes of this blog’s publication) to degrading them. Disliking the police, or wanting them defunded is a political opinion I disagree with, but as a free speech advocate I have no problem with people expressing that point of view. However, this meme he posted yesterday seems uncalled for.

His coworkers pointed out that as a union member it’s disrespectful to refer to a dead cop’s funeral as “taking out the trash,” and he responded with some classic whataboutism to justify it.

Pretty hard to cancel a guy who’s in a union, which begs the question – does his union support this?

His friends tried to give him some good advice and take it down, but it looks like his thirst for attention got the better of him. Now he’s Turtleboy famous, so it looks like he got what he was looking for.
