Milford Fire Department And Board Of Selectmen Refuse To Explain Why They’re Allowing The Gan Rivkah Center To Continue To Exist

 

I attempted to call the Milford Board of Health, all three Selectmen, the town administrator, and the fire department to discuss why no one is doing anything to shut down Hadassah Robeson’s women’s and children’s pet “shelter,” despite the obvious health violations and other concerns that we have exposed there. Unfortunately the stream ended while I was speaking with the fire department, but here’s what they told me:

• They said they know what I’m up to, they know I’m fishing, and their official comment is “no comment”
• They said that the board of health is the one that should’ve taken action if there are too many bed in one room. As you can see from the blogs, there are 10 beds, including cribs, in one room. She alleges that the house is frequently at capacity. There are also no shortage of animals living in that house, and they did not go in the basement or the garage.
• When I asked them about the fact that beds block windows in that house, and that most fire departments consider this a code violation, he again said that they had no comment.

The town administrator and three selectmen were not there, but I left voicemails with all of them. It’s clear that they are the ones who are allowing this to happen because they don’t want to deal with it, and they think that by ignoring me I will go away.

Wrong.

Now I’m just going to keep calling them until they answer, and I would urge you to do the same. These people are banking on apathy, and hoping you’ll all go away. If you flood them with phone calls and respectfully voice your concerns, they won’t be able to ignore this issue for much longer.
