Monica Cannon-Grant Calls Civil Rights Leader Reverend Eugene Rivers A “Coon Who Boston PD Will Kill Last” For Opposing Defunding The Police
Well known bigot and race hustler Monica Cannon-Grant is several months pregnant but it hasn’t given her any perspective or stopped her from spreading hatred and violence all over the Internet.
Yesterday on Twitter she something that really upset her:
Nick Collins is a democratic state senator who apparently isn’t liberal enough for Monica Cannon-Grant because the people he represents don’t want the police defunded. Likely because it’s a dumb and unpopular idea that only has gained steam with criminals and kids tripping on acid in dorm rooms. But now that Marty Walsh is gone and his long term replacement will likely be someone who favors defunding the police (Kim Janey, Michelle Wu, or Andrea Campbell), this has become a hot button issue and people in Boston are speaking out against it.
One of these people is Reverend Eugene Rivers.
Here’s what he had to say.
Amen.
A Gallup poll taken during the height of the George Floyd protests showed that 81% of black Americans either want the same amount of policing, or increased policing. Black people are not stupid, and they know that the biggest problem plaguing the black community isn’t the police.
Eugene Rivers is a grown man who’s been around long enough to know what works and what doesn’t. He’s also done more for the black community than hustlers and con-artists like Monica Cannon-Grant could ever dream of doing.
Rivers moved to Boston, and began studying at Harvard College in 1976. In 1984, he founded the Azusa Christian Community in Dorchester, serving as pastor. He also founded the Ella J. Baker House, in Dorchester, as a community youth center. Concerned about gang violence, and the high number of youth being killed by gun violence, he joined with other black clergy to found the Boston TenPoint Coalition in 1992. The Coalition’s efforts succeeded in reducing violence in Boston’s neighborhoods, and led to what has been called the “Boston Miracle.” Rivers became co-chair of the National TenPoint Leadership Foundation, and was widely seen as an expert on strategies for reducing urban violence that impacts African Americans.
In 2015 he was outspoken in condemning the white trust fund babies who blockaded I-93 in Medford and Milton.
“They’re exploiting the legitimate issues of black people to advance their own interests. These white, Occupy Wall Street trust fund babies are having a good time at the expense of black people,” Rivers said.
He went on to point out that almost all of the protesters out Thursday were not black and he calls their actions dangerous to the public and damaging to black causes because the group lacks a clear agenda.
“None of these demonstrations solve a problem,” he said. “In 1965 when Martin Luther King marched, he marched and disrupted things to get legislation. To get a voting rights act. These young people are not focused on anything that produces a measurable outcome.”
Although he’s a democrat at his core and I probably disagree with him on 90% of political issues, he’s a sensible man who actually wants to help black people. This is why Monica Cannon-Grant hates him, and she shared her thoughts about it on Twitter yesterday:
“Eugene Rivers does not speak for Black folks he’s a coon whom the BPD will kill last.”
She called a civil rights leader one of the worst racial slurs you can call a person because he doesn’t want to get rid of the police. She went on to accuse him of “sucking and jiving for master.”
This woman is not some fringe lunatic. Today Boston Globe reporter Kevin Slane called her one of the “most powerful people in Boston,” and described her as an “anti-violence organizer.”
Here’s his Twitter account and email if you’d like to inform him that he’s speaking glowingly of a violent racist who called a civil rights leader a “coon.”
Last year Monica was named of the Bostonians of the Year.
Bostonians of the Year — there is no one person making change in Boston. It takes a collective to raise a community. 🖤✊🏽https://t.co/7Mqa3MzBfb

She’s been honored by the Celtics as a “hero among us,” and is supported by Senators, City Councillors, and Mayoral candidates, in addition to working on Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley’s campaign.

I joined @ViolenceNBoston this week for a powerful discussion with community leaders & loved ones of Eric Garner, Andrew Kearse, Stephon Clark, & other Black men & women who died at the hands of police. This is where I’d like to start for real accountability & change: pic.twitter.com/PI8yQ4FVxt

All of these people are aware of who Monica is, and the things she’s said. All of them continue to promote her anyway because they are frauds like her, looking out for their own self interests. And they prefer the narrative that MCG is a civil rights icon of our time.
She also doesn’t speak for the majority of black people in Boston, which it turns out you can discover by simply speaking with black people from Boston.
She’s also been spreading misinformation about the police officer who saved the life of Tionna Bonner moments before 16 year old Ma’Khia Bryant attempted to stab her to death.
And she’s upset that politicians are taking steps to protect Asian people, because when the focus starts going away from her, so too do the grants.
None of this is new. It’s just who she is at her core, and we’ve been documenting it for months. Here are some videos of her saying other racist and offensive things about Rayla Campbell (a black woman who ran for Congress against Ayanna Pressley), as well as the police and other perceived enemies.
The following statements came out of the mouth of the woman the Globe labeled person of the year:
“This heffer running against Ayanna Pressley. This one here with the white husband. At some point we gonna have to have a conversation with black folks who get in a conversation with white folks and then forget that they black.”
“If white vagina and white penises jeopardize your melanin then we need you to sit in the back of the classroom and this ain’t your part of the show and you don’t get to talk right now.”
“Regardless of how many white penises you ride, and I ain’t mad at you sis because if you riding that mother f***er for a credit score get you that house boo. Get you that 40 acres and a mule. Just don’t forget you a n***er.”
“He getting pink uncooked vagina. I get it, I get it. But what I need you to do though is keep your mouth shut on black shit if you ain’t ready to be black”
“I’ll be damned if I let this melanin adjacent woman, whose proximity to white supremacy is so disgusting, be disrespectful to our congresswoman because white folks have convinced her that she was better. She’s an exceptional negro? Is that what it is?”
“Malcom X would’ve blown somebody’s head off.”
“I get it, you’ve been riding white penis for a while. I don’t give a shit. You and Tom, Chad, and Bill can get it.”
“Then you had the house negro who was so excited about being in the mother fucking house, that every time master got sick they was like ‘we sick master.’ That’s what this woman is.”
“We gonna figure out how to organize an event for our congresswoman Ayanna Pressley cuz we need this heffer to understand that regardless of how many white penises she ride, regardless of how many white supremacists she recruit, and regardless of how many Trump supporters she support, that at the end of the day keep your hands off. Keep your fucking hands off.”
“And when it comes to our district attorney Rachael Rollins, yes fuck the police all day long and twice on Sunday. But what you not gonna do is put your hands on that black woman you 4 white men.”
“I’m anti-coonery. There is a situation in this city of house negroes and field negroes that nobody wants to talk about. And the house negroes will always bow to the oppressor.”
Here’s another video of Monica threatening to murder police officers while repeatedly using vulgarity and the n word.
And here’s a collection of her greatest hits.
In that video she:
- Threatened to incite a race war
- Repeatedly said “fuck the police”
- Threatened to organize mobs to threaten politicians and police
- Constantly used vulgarity despite being the head of a non-profit that is supported by several city councilors, the Mayor, Congressman Joe Kennedy, and Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley
- Bragged about how sources in City Hall “give her the drop on shit”
- Employs her son, who makes violent rap videos threatening to increase the murder rate in Boston
- Said that she’s “anti-coonery” and said that there are too many “house negroes and field negroes” in Boston
- Employs a man named Chris Lewis who assaulted peaceful protesters at Violence in Boston HQ and threatened to shoot them
- Called people supporting Marty Walsh “captain save a ho mother fuckers”
- Collected a $6K grant from DA Rachael Rollins officer which she claims she used to pay for abortions
Monica Cannon-Grant is a media creation. They treat her like she’s the voice for black people, but she’s just a mentally unhinged bigot who threatens to murder people for being in interracial marriages. Flood Globe reporter Kevin Slane’s inbox and demand that they stop propping this woman up, because all of her power and legitimacy comes from them.
