State Senator Harriette Chandler Caught Illegally Parking In Handicapped Spot For 3rd Time, Staffer Lies And Tells Us She Has A Placard

Harriette Chandler is the former Massachusetts State Senate President, and current State Senator from my district in Worcester County. She is 81 year old and is a notoriously bad driver as well. Countless sources have contacted us while seeing her driving on the wrong side of the road, or taking up multiple parking spots. But when you’re a powerful woman with a lifetime seat because you run with a D next to your name, you can pretty much get away with anything.

Senator Chandler also has a tendency to illegally park in handicapped spots while conducting personal business, using her state issued vehicle without a placard. In March of 2018 she was exposed for not only parking in a handicapped spot in a barren Bed, Bath, and Beyond (in Auburn) parking lot, but for parking on the double yellow lines which exist so that vans with passengers in wheelchair can have space to unload a ramp.

A real handicapped person would know that this prevents people with wheelchairs from accessing places of public accommodation.

Six months later Senator Chandler was once again seen parked in a handicapped spot at a Jim McGovern fundraiser (because nothing says “I support women and progressivism” like supporting an entrenched 22 year incumbent white guy against a woman).

What made this even more hypocritical was the fact that Senator Chandler was a major proponent for the Act Relative To Handicapped Parking, a bill that became law after unanimously making it through the State House of Representatives and State Senate in 2017. It drastically increased punishments for illegally parking in handicapped spots.

One of the primary reasons the law was passed was because able bodied people were using placards that belonged to actual handicapped people. It increased penalties and everyone voted for it regardless of party because it was the right thing to do.

Last year a reporter (Evan Lipps, formerly of the New Boston Post) contacted Chandler’s office for comment and was told that she did indeed have a handicapped placard. Except this weekend Senator Chandler was once again caught on video parking in a handicapped spot in the Tatnuck Square shopping plaza in Worcester, and once again the vehicle did not have a placard or a handicapped designation on the license plate.

Just

Just because Harriette Chandler worked on Franklin Roosevelt’s re-election campaign doesn’t give her the right to break the law. A law she voted for. Being a thousand years old doesn’t automatically make you handicapped.

This is the third time this has happened and she’s never had a placard on the car, so I decided this morning I would call and find out. I’m doing this live while blogging so I have no idea what’s about to happen. Click here to subscribe to our YouTube channel so you get content like this before everyone else.  (starts at 8:45 mark).

“She does have a handicapped placard.”

No she doesn’t. This is the third time now we’ve seen her parking in a handicapped spot without a license. I have since emailed their communications director for further comment but they have not contacted us back. The law that she voted for requires the placard to be plain and visible in the front of the car.

Additionally, this car’s license plate is designated for the Senate President. Harriette Chandler is no longer the Senate President. She’s also not allowed to use her state issued vehicle for anything other than state business. Chandler was eating at Scruffy Murphy’s in Tatnuck Square.

“Sir I haven’t given you permission to record this.”

I literally told you four minutes earlier that I was recording you for journalistic purposes. You didn’t object. You also work for one of the most powerful people in the state, so go ahead and try to get me on that if you want, but you’ve been exposed for lying and trying to coverup the illegal actions of a hypocrite.

The question is, will any other media outlets report on this? If it was one of the 7 Republican State Senators (out of 40), would they report on it then? I think we all know the answer to that one.
