Warwick Mother, Failed Christian Rock Singer Gets 5 Years In Jail For Forcing Teens To Have Sex, Possessing Child Porn, Framing 13 Year Old For Rape

 

Providence Journal: Kelly Shannon, of Warwick, pleaded no contest on Monday before Superior Court Judge Daniel A. Procaccini to two counts of knowingly making or causing to be made two false police reports: One, that the then 13-year-old boy had raped his girlfriend and, six months later, that he had violated an order barring him from contacting the girl. That second report led to the boy being held at the Rhode Island Island Training School and placed under electronic monitoring.

In exchange for Shannon’s plea, prosecutors agreed to amend a count of possessing child pornography to a charge of fraudulently using a computer to send and receive photographs. According to a Warwick police affidavit, Shannon possessed images of a teenage boy’s erect penis and was additionally accused of taking nude photos of a teenage girl, identified as a relative, that she then shared with boys.

Shannon was sentenced to five years in prison, with 18 months to serve on home confinement, on the computer charge. The remaining 3½ years is suspended with probation. She received one year of home confinement for each of the two counts of falsely reporting a crime. Her sentences are to be served concurrently. Five other counts were dismissed. Shannon will not have to register as a sex offender under the deal. She was ordered not to contact either teen involved in the case.

Shannon identifies herself as a graduate of Zion Bible College and an evangelist with the Assemblies of God, a Pentecostal Protestant denomination. A Christian rock artist, her album, “Rescue Me,” is available for sale online through Amazon.

“I would like to say I’m a good judge of character, but at 13, I didn’t have the trust-your-gut instinct I wish I had,” he wrote. He told of Shannon helping with his homework, taking him places, and listening with interest when he spoke. “She was someone that mastered the art of deception and manipulation. I trusted her, an adult figure, and unknowingly over time became a victim in her web of lies,” he said.

He missed red flags that he hid from his parents, he said, including when Shannon performed a marriage ceremony for him and his girlfriend and dictated who he could be friends with. His mother punished him once and when she took away his phone, Shannon snuck him a replacement, he said. His mother found the phone and tried to put an end to the “bizarre, crazy behavior” by getting a restraining order against Shannon. Shannon warned him that she’d have him arrested if his mother didn’t have the restraining order lifted, spurring an “awful, embarrassing, traumatizing chain of events,” he said.

He was arrested, given an electronic monitoring bracelet, lost friends, couldn’t be around children unsupervised, and was called a rapist for a crime he did not commit on a charge that was later vacated by the court, he said. He had to quit the football team due to the monitoring. He told of suffering from PTSD, anxiety, anger and trust issues in the aftermath.

According to court documents, the allegations stemmed from Nov. 20, 2014, when Warwick police responded to Gorton Junior High School to a report that a 13-year-old female student was recanting accusations that her boyfriend had raped her. The teenager told police that Shannon had forced her to lie about the rape and to engage in sexual activity with various teenage boys. The teenager told investigators, too, that Shannon had taken photographs of her naked and in her underwear that Shannon later sent to boys. She said Shannon had taken control of her social media accounts, posting messages and communicating with boys while posing as the girl.

According to an affidavit supporting a search warrant, the teenager told police that Shannon showed her the communications with the boys “so she would know what was said and what was expected of her — if there had been an agreement to hold hands or kiss, for example.” She told police that Shannon also instructed her on manual and oral sex acts that she was to perform on the juvenile males.

The 13-year-old allowed investigators to search her cellphone and seize three other electronic devices. The detectives later got a warrant to seize and search Shannon’s cellphone and that of her husband. They found an image of a boy’s erect penis that was originally sent to the teenage girl.

Warwick police charged Shannon in July 2015 with one count of possession of child pornography and seven counts of making false reports to police, both individually and by compelling juvenile girls to do the same. She pleaded not guilty and was released on personal recognizance.

Under the plea agreement, Shannon must abide by special conditions that include attending mental health counseling, if deemed necessary, and agreeing not to live with any children 17 or younger unless approved by the court, or to have unsupervised contact with children 17 or younger, including electronic interaction. She cannot work or participate in any volunteer activity that involves contact with children.

“While the defendant will not have to register as a sex offender, she now has a felony conviction, is on 18 months of home confinement and has strict conditions of probation that are similar to what would have been used in a child pornography disposition. Those conditions include restrictions on her computer use, no unsupervised contact with children, and required mental health counseling. The victims were present during the disposition and were pleased that it resolved prior to trial, sparing them from having to testify.”

I’m shocked I haven’t heard of this story until now. People like this are why you can’t trust anyone who’s into Christian rock. The Stanley brothers cult has forever taught me that.

If there really is a God there’s no way he wants us to communicate himself through people who dress like this, wear Dorothy’s ruby slippers, and produce cringe music.

This woman was arrested for some of the most vile crimes possible. She tried to ruin the life of a 13 year old boy by making up a lie that he was a rapist, because he wouldn’t pressure her mother to drop a restraining order barring her from seeing him. She married him to a 13 year old girl who she took noodz of, sent them to other boys, and then made her have sex with them if she promised it while pretending to be her. She then forced this girl to make up a rape allegation against her “husband.” Meanwhile, she was soliciting dick pics from other children and holding onto them in her phone.

And she won’t have to register as a sex offender. If this was a man he would never get out of jail.

To illustrate how demented these people are, she kept posting pictures of her kids and her husband on Facebook ever since being arrested, as if nothing happened.

Her friends all commented as if nothing happened.

 

None of these people mind being associated with a pedophile. If you know them, please feel free to tell them how disgusting and disgraceful they are. They should be forever embarrassed and ashamed.

According to her neighbor she completely ignored her autistic son, locked him out of the house, and eventually sent him off to a home so she could work on her music career. She also cancelled a family vacation to Disney World so she could do a show.

Ya know, because that’s what God would want.

Then there’s her husband, who actively promotes the daughter’s album.

And for Christmas he brags about getting his wife’s shitty album under the tree.

What. A. Loser.

Why isn’t he in jail too? There is no way he didn’t know what his wife was up to. You can’t live with a person and not know that they’re soliciting child porn, ruining the lives of a young boy, and forcing a girl her daughter’s age to have sex with multiple boys.

Animals. Throw him in jail too.
