WHDH Apologizes For Employee Caroline Thayer Parking In Handicapped Driver In Boston After Public Shaming On TB

Yesterday we published a blog about a WHDH reporter double parking on a public street and preventing a handicapped man from accessing his vehicle outside of a rehab facility in downtown Boston.

We asked if anyone could identify the license plates and a bunch of you gave us a name – Caroline Thayer from Concord. She doesn’t seem to have much of a digital presence, but WHDH became aware of the blog and reached out to the woman who originally posted the images.

No Owen, the problem isn’t that she used the placard in an inappropriate way, because there is no appropriate way to box in a handicapped person. The problem is that they parked there at all.

According to sources we spoke with in the Boston Police Department WHDH employees do this all the time because their headquarters are right there. Perhaps some tickets are in order. I always seem to get one in Boston every time I stay 5 minutes longer on a meter than I’m allowed to.

Public shaming works. They ignored this woman’s messages and pleas, but were finally forced to respond after we made them look bad. Stop making life more difficult for handicapped drivers.
