Newly Elected Braintree School Committee Member Matt Lynch Speaks Out After First Meeting Gets Cancelled Because He Refuse To Wear A Mask
In October we published a story about a well respected Braintree teacher named Matt Lynch who was running for School Committee. Matt quit his job a few months prior after a cancel culture mob came after him when it was discovered that he was in Washington DC on January 6, despite the fact that he never attempted to go in the Capitol. He ran for School Committee, and due to his opposition to both critical race theory and forced masking of children, he received a lot of pushback from communists that make up 59% of the Braintree electorate. Prior to the election I had him as a guest on the Live Show and urged Braintree residents to vote for him.
The message he was pushing was popular and going on the Turtleboy Live Show helped him get out the vote. Consequently he finished 2nd in a field of 7 competing for 3 seats.
This upset the establishment greatly.
They could’ve posted that a populist anti-CRT, anti-forced masking candidate finished 2nd out of 7 candidates, despite having no political apparatus backing him up. Instead the media chose to define Matt Lynch by where he was on January 6, despite the fact that he broke now laws. To these people, January 6 is the greatest gift they ever received, and the only thing that will ever matter to them.
After his victory WGBH mentioned how he came on the Live Show (which they called a “local right wing podcast”).
Efforts by GBH News to reach Lynch were unsuccessful, but in an appearance on a local right-wing podcast in the lead-up to Election Day, Lynch made it clear who he saw as the enemy. Tuffy, a former elementary and eighth-grade math teacher, figured prominently.
“People are starting to see, like, ‘Who are these people taking over our town?’” said Lynch. “This lady, Kathy Tuffy, is actually running, she’s kind of the head of them. So, she’s running against me because once I announced I was running, they kind of got scared, and they were like, ‘Oh, we have to run her now.’“
Unlike Turtleboy Daily News, WGBH is funded by the taxpayers and pays their hosts $400K a year. It should be noted that despite their pearl clutching about a victorious candidate using a popular media outlet to speak to voters, WGBH regularly platformed well known bigot and non-profit fraud Monica Cannon-Grant. They even allowed her to use their airwaves to push the harmful conspiracy theory that 16 year old Mikayla Miller was lynched by a group of white teenagers in Hopkinton.
At his swearing in Matt Lynch chose not to wear a mask, as he refused to submit to the anti-science hysteria that so many in the mask cult subscribe to.
However, at his first meeting as a member of the School Committee the entire meeting was adjourned when Lynch and another member refused to participate in the mask theater.
That is what real leadership looks like right there. Braintree is a town that went 59-41 for Biden, and they still voted for someone like Matt Lynch because people value free thinkers, especially those with courage. Matt Lynch does not care in the least about what WGBH, or any other media has to say about him, because he knows that he’s standing up for what is right. School Committee members everywhere should follow his lead. They were elected by the people, and there is no law forcing anyone to wear a mask. Any member who feels unsafe around another unmasked elected official is free to leave, resign, or participate on Zoom, but the meeting must happen. This ends when we decided it ends.
Matt contacted me and asked if he could write an op-ed about the meeting, which I of course told him could. Here’s what he had to say.

The crowning achievement of the 45th President’s legacy will be showing at least half the country the news is fake, which they are. They set the narrative, then us plebs kick and scream at each other as the truth usually goes unnoticed. Last week’s narrative was “January 6 terrorist goes mask-less and shuts down meeting” I’m all set with engaging in that narrative as that’s for the stunning and brave chaps over in the Everything Braintree FB group. Why do 522 people want innocent kids to wear masks? How come they want kids to continue to bear the burden of COVID when it was never their’s to bear in the first place? I’m not surprised coming from the anti 1A FB group known as Everything Braintree. Let the team at Everything Braintree scream in their echo chamber but if you lose your cat you know where to go!
Now to the real narrative of #Maskgate.

Mask mandates do not stop the spread of Covid. If you need a doctor to tell you that then you have bigger issues to worry about. Cloth masks are for show which means the past year and a half DESE has run a science experiment with your kids, and not a harmless one either. The so called “conspiracy theorists” knew a year and a half ago, but the CDC is just catching up now. The fact that the decision to mask children back in 2020 was up to unelected bureaucrats rather than parents just shows how demoralized a society we have become.
How come COVID wasn’t a problem for the first 10 minutes when we picked new leadership? How come at the swearing in ceremony the town council members didn’t need masks when they gave their oath but did when they sat down? How come stadiums, arenas, restaurants, and bars have been packed without masks the past year but COVID is different in classrooms? How come you have to wear a mask when you walk to the bathroom but not when you sit down? Why do high school sports wear masks but college and pro do not? Why are all the people mandating and telling you to wear masks, always getting caught without masks!? If you think these mask mandates are for our health and safety might want to get on the Q Anon distro, they believe some wild stuff as well.
The majority of people know there is a COVID charade going on but just go along with it for fear of being shamed. Unfortunately, when you normalize radical behavior (like going around in a cloth mask that doesn’t work) society takes a step in the wrong direction. Check out this Rasmussen Poll from the other day.
Media driven COVID fear has given a lot of smart and decent people a real authoritarian mindset these days. “Saving Lives” justifies it, I guess? Segregation came back to Boston on MLK Jr. weekend in the form of medical apartheid and we barely noticed. So when serious people fake outrage over “he didn’t wear a mask and stopped a meeting,” maybe it’s them missing the point?
That one definitely going to anger a few people. Either way the mask debate needs to happen because state keeps playing games and the kids have to deal with the fallout. Common sense says let parents decide for their kids. I understand people will wear masks for the rest of their lives (doesn’t bother me), but that decision should lie with the family. The schools have done everything that has been asked of them the past two years. What was asked of them was BS and we can talk about that, but we only have ourselves to blame. Time for a new generation of leaders to get involved!
In the landmark Supreme Court case New York Times vs. Sullivan (1964), which strengthened the First Amendment by giving the media protection from frivolous defamation lawsuits, Justice Brennan wrote “against the background of a profound national commitment to the principle that debate on public issues should be uninhibited, robust, and wide-open, and that it may well include vehement, caustic, and sometimes unpleasantly sharp attacks on government and public officials.”
This means anyone can come say whatever they would like to me! If you want to just yell and call me a terrorist, then so be it. But I hope people come challenge my(and other board members) ideas and explain why. Might not think it but I do have humility, I’ll listen. Everyone wants to get back “to the middle” but no one wants to do what it takes to get back there. It’s time to find out if we are still a government of the people, by the people, for the people.
