Ayanna Pressley, Ilhan Omar Visit MCI Norfolk To Meet With Prisoners About Reforms, Refuse To Speak With CO’s About Recent Attacks

After last week’s violent attack at Souza-Baranowski prison that left three corrections officers seriously injured, you would think that the people pushing for “criminal justice reform” bills that gave these prisoners the freedom to orchestrate these attacks, would think about the damage their well-intentioned legislation is causing. But that would require introspection and the ability to believe that you could possibly be wrong about something, which most of our elected officials cannot do. Look who came to MCI Norfolk this weekend.
This morning, we went behind the wall at MCI Norfolk to discuss the needs of inmates and center their humanity as we reimagine this country’s criminal legal system & actuality the principles of the People’s #JusticeGuarantee #CBCStateOfBlackAmerica #MA7 pic.twitter.com/vLnFvJZKMy

Half of the squad (Ayanna Pressley and Ilhan Omar), and some other like minded people who are pushing for “criminal justice reform.” They weren’t there to talk to CO’s about how they can be kept safer in this dangerous work environment, and they didn’t even acknowledge the attack occurred according to a MCF Norfolk CO who emailed us.
Since January 2019 staff assaults on Officers are up 150% so far. The DOC cares more about helping inmates get out of prison than their own officers. Two months ago an officer at MCI Norfolk found an inmate tattooing another, confronted him and was assaulted with his own flashlight. That was 2 months ago and that Officer is still waiting for his Industrial Accident to be completed so he can get paid. He was beaten with a flashlight and the state is dicking him around so he is not getting paid.
So the officers were assaulted Friday and are still in the hospital as we speak. I worked Saturday and believe it or not we had several guests who were attending an Alternative To Violence Program for inmates and Criminal Justice reform class again for inmates. I was absolutely shocked when I looked at the list of people attending as you will see. The list of visitors consisted of Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA); Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Karen Bass (D-California) as well as Suffolk County District Attorney Rachael Rollins and a few other State Reps, several heads of the Department of Corrections and Dignitaries. They took the time to come to visit inmates, race bait, and talk “injustice,” about the Alternative to Violence program and listen to inmates gripe about how horrible it is for them to be in prison. It was mentioned to them prior to entering nonchalantly about the several officers who were violently attacked and they flat out ignored it.
It is disgusting that they took time to go see murderers, rapists, armed robbers, and woman beaters but ignored the officers who put their life on the line every day who were savagely assaulted.
Here’s a video Representative Pressley posted on Twitter on her way out of jail.
Leaving MCI Norfolk with my heart full but also broken because the men we met with aren’t leaving with us. We need their brilliance and their intellect as we work to affirm #JusticeForAll. #CBCStateOfBlackAmerica pic.twitter.com/XQbotnX6cE

“I’m leaving with my heart full and broken because we’re not leaving with those brothers with us. Because we need their thought leadership and intellect. and they’ve issued a challenge to us. They appreciated the various bills that the caucus has put forward. But they’ve asked for more than paperwork, what they want to see is footwork. And I’m grateful they’re holding us accountable.”
She’s upset that rapists and murderers are not coming home with her, or as she calls them “brothers.” I’m sure Ilhan Omar was disappointed to find out this wasn’t referring to biological brothers, as she likely tagged along assuming that this was a blind date.
The rapists, drug dealers, and murderers they met appreciate the bills they’re pushing for. What more needs to be said?
She’s glad that incarcerated felons are “holding us accountable.” Because I want my politicians beholden to rapists and murderers who are incapable of obeying the law.
And when they’re not meeting with violent offenders they want to give voting rights to, people like Elizabeth Warren are fighting for male sex offenders who want to live in women’s prisons.
Imagine how out of touch you’d have to be to think that putting sex offenders with male body parts into female prisons will make jails safer. This should go over well with voters, because most normal people rank transgender prisoner rights over economic issues any day of the week.

What a Piece if Shit!!!!!
Well her husband was locked up at MCI Norfolk for 5 years.
Alright, this is leaving out a huge piece of information. Yes, horrible timing on this meeting but this meeting was set up months in advance to talk to a group of politically activate inmates who are working with the Black Caucus about criminal justice reform. Second, it’s a shame that they didn’t address the safety and the escalation in violence since the reform took place. But can we step back and agree there is an issue with the criminal justice system and try and fix it?
