A missing 56 year old Weymouth woman named Christine Mello was found dead in her home yesterday and police suspect she was murdered:
A woman in Weymouth, Massachusetts, that was previously reported missing was found dead in her home, and now police are trying to figure out what led to her death. Christine Ruth Mello, 56, had been reported missing before her body was found Monday in her home on Lake Street, according to the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office. While details about the discovery weren’t released, authorities said her death is being investigated as a homicide. After she was reported missing, neighbors say police showed up at the home on Saturday but it’s unclear if the officers went inside the home. Two days later, her body was found. A neighbor who lives next door said the last time he saw Mello was in late February. So, he sent her a text about 10 days ago and she responded.
“She apparently responded but we don’t know if it was her. The texts were wonky, they didn’t look right, it was weird. Not how she’d respond,” said Anthony Arredondo.
Neighbors said the 56-year-old was living with a man. It’s unclear at this time if that man is part of this investigation. No arrests have been made and the district attorney’s office said there’s no threat to the public.

Why is the Norfolk County DA’s Office continuing to allow a man under internal affairs investigation to lead murder investigations in Norfolk County? Does the victim’s family know that the investigation into their loved one’s death is being run by a man who admitted to a federal grand jury that he lied under oath to a state grand jury in order to indict an innocent woman? What happens if and when Michael Proctor is indicted? Will every case he’s worked on be thrown out? Doesn’t the victim’s family have a right to know about and object to Proctor’s involvement in her murder case?
In no other line of work can you be put under investigation and continue to go to work like nothing happened. When a teacher is accused of misconduct by a student they are put on paid leave until an investigation is completed, because that’s the safe thing to do. I don’t object to Proctor being paid to sit at home while he’s being investigated, but I do object to him still being assigned murder cases!
If Christine Mello’s family or friends is reading this I would recommend they immediately call the Norfolk County DA’s Office and demand to know why they are allowing this criminal to continue to taint murder cases: 781-830-4992.
WOW. I cannot believe that Proctor is the lead investigator.
If he ends up on the POST Commission, he can not testify.
Do they avoid putting Proctor on the stand in the KR case?
Even if the Commonwealth decides not to put Proctor on the stand the defense absolutely can and will call him to testify.

Holy Crap.. The family must be horrified that the lead investigator is someone being investigated by the State Police and possibly the FEDS.
Does the family have a right to request another District Attorney’s Office take over?
How is that fair to the family? What happens if next week the FEDS start arresting people including him? Does that mean a whole new team of investigators will have to get involved?
What happens if they arrest someone for her murder? Don’t you think that Trooper Michael Proctors very questionable work ethic will be brought up by a defense lawyer? It would be very easy to discredit Michael Proctor and his investigation. What does that mean for the victims family? They may never get justice because the investigation into their loved ones death was lead by a corrupt and problematic trooper.
Why is the Norfolk DA’S Office allowed to investigate anything at this point? Allegations of corruption are serious. Shouldn’t their office not be allowed to be involved in any other crime investigations until the FEDS investigation is over?
This is just sad and very troubling but this DA and his troopers should not be involved.
It’s worse than that. I recognize her name from free Karen Read chats and remember her. You know because of the coincidence of her being from there, having the last name Mello and being on our side.
What are the odds someone who knows Proctor is crooked not only gets murdered but has their murder investigated by the same crooked detective she has complained about?

TB will have to dig into but I just heard the victim’s name and recognize it from Free Karen Read chats. There was a woman by the same name who lived in the area following the Karen Read case. Now the very same detective gets assigned to her murder. No way.
I hope he doesn’t catch the real killer. I hope anyone else but him catches the killer. It would be the best thing in the world for the killer if they got caught by Proctor because they’ll have the best defense a murderer could ever want in a trial. The Weymouth Police believe that John O’Keefe was murdered in Albert’s house. They don’t believe Karen Reads Lexus bit John. Weymouth PD is not happy at all that these fools are involved. The State Police should know that Weymouth PD is disgusted that Proctor perjured himself in congress. This is going to get very messy, WPD are an excellent organization. A real Police force with great leadership and superior Officers. Canton not so much.
