Disgraced former Canton Police Chief Helena Rafferty suffered the Major L of a Karen Read acquittal, but she’s also having her own personal troubles as she’s being sued by the elderly man she hit in a crosswalk in February of 2024. The man was walking with a cane and wearing a yellow reflective vest in Wrentham, but Rafferty claims she didn’t see him while driving her Canton Police town issued Ford SUV.

The victim, 67 year old Michael Barry, spent weeks in a Rhode Island hospital and Spaulding Rehabilitation while undergoing 9 surgeries, is still struggling every day. Court filings show that his hospital bills exceed $211K.

Rafferty attempted to hide this from the media and the taxpayers of Canton, but after being outed on Turtleboy she issued a milquetoast public statement.

However, according to recent court filings Run em Down Rafferty is attempting to escape personal responsibility and have the lawsuit thrown out by claiming to have immunity because she was acting in her capacity as Canton Police Chief when she struck the victim with her SUV.

Rafferty claims she was on duty because she was on her way to TJ Maxx in Plainville making work related phone calls, and once she arrived at TJ Maxx she sent work related emails in the parking lot.

However, she has provided no documentation in the form of phone records or emails showing that she was making work related phone calls and writing work related emails at that time.

Rafferty admitted in her public statement that she was driving from TJ Maxx in Plainville to her home in Norfolk, neither of which is near Canton, which means she wasn’t on her way to work.

She also claims that she doesn’t have a personal vehicle, and only drives her town issued car.

First of all, the fact that someone who gets paid as much as her doesn’t have to buy her own car, and instead gets a free one from the taxpayers to use for personal business, is ridiculous. But what about those cars we saw parked outside her $1.8 million, 7K foot mansion?

According to RMV records several of those personal vehicles. She has an explanation for that though – they’re for her kids only. She doesn’t drive them.

Run em Down Rafferty claims to be on call 24/7 because she’s just that important. She has mentally ill people trying to kill themselves who text her for some reason, and she sends the SWAT team to save their lives. She routinely wakes up at 3 AM in a cold sweat just to make sure if the community needs her.

Apparently being on the job 24/7 and waking up in the middle of the night isn’t something her friend Brian Albert does. Only Canton cops, not Boston cops.

But there’s nothing in her contract about being on call 24/7.

And as Mr. Barry’s Attorney Seth Jacobs points out, the only person she was serving at the time of striking the victim was herself.

  1. 24/7 is complete bullshit, they have a dispatcher and at least 4 patrolman on duty, they don’t wait for you to wake up at 3am and check your texts you POS lying scumbag

  2. Just ne look at those pictures tells the whole story. She has aged 25 years in the last 3 and a half, gee I wonder why that is? Hmmm? Could it have anything to do with the fact that she helped all her good friends ( Berky, BA, Gravy Boat, Higgy) cover up the murder of a Boston cop in her town? And also try and railroad a completely innocent person? You reap what you sow you fuckin skank, hope you have to sell your mansion to pay this poor man. When you look up corrupt piece of shit in the dictionary there is a pic of Morrissey with an asterisk, see also Cannone, Beverly, Berkowitz, Ken and Rafferty, Helena. Take your pick. Scumbags the lot of em.

  3. Ahhh, the town of Canton. Seems like all the public officials and employees, except the snowplow driver, are devoid of accepting any responsibility or have any accountability. I feel bad for the hardworking taxpayers who choose to live there. I’m sure the town itself is nice, but I couldn’t live in a town with this level of perceived corruption.

  4. Sure would suck if a private eye saw Rafferty behind the wheel of her “kids car”

  5. TJ Maxx in Plainville? Big Lots in Ashland?

So you rock around and think that you’re the toughest in the world, the whole wide world
But you’re streets away from where it gets the roughest, you ain’t been there

    1. Exactly!! Middlesex County is waaaayyyyyyy out of her jurisdiction! Shes a corrupt liar in that clown town! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

  6. Off-duty police officers can still be held liable for civil lawsuits if their actions cause harm, especially if they are acting under the color of law or using their authority as officers. However, liability may depend on the specific circumstances of the incident and whether they were performing their official duties at the time. – Police officers may be indemnified for actions taken while using a department vehicle off duty, but this can depend on specific department policies and the circumstances of the incident. Generally, indemnification relates to whether the officer is acting within the scope of their employment at the time of the incident. – Hence, she was “off-duty”, not traveling from the police station, but from a different town to return home; just take your lumps “Run’em down”, I’m sure whatever insurance company is involved will settle the victim’s medical expenses

  7. This woman is as ugly on the outside as she is on the inside.
This appears to be a reoccurring theme in Canton.

  8. Brian thinks he cant help anyone outside of Boston, Rafferty thinks her jurisdiction is everywhere

  9. I would be so angry signing tax checks in that town known my money pays incompetent putzes like this.

That town is such a disgusting cesspit that any day now I expect an angry random citizen to drive a bulldozer covered in cement around down knocking down the house of every government official in town while the cops sit there looking stupid as their houses of corruption get pushed over.

  10. I was surprised to read that 24/7 convenience store employees have a roughly 14 times higher rate of death due to work-related violence than Law Enforcement Officers do.

  11. Helena Rafferty is a deplorable person. She has zero redeeming qualities! She’s as unlikeable as Hank Brennan. She’s a dishonest, corrupt, irresponsible, and unethical excuse for a law enforcement officer. She struck that man with her vehicle and could have killed him! She was not engaged in any work-related activity at the time, and was not covered by the despicable “qualified immunity” that cops use to avoid being accountable for their own poor behaviors. Hold her accountable! +Abolish qualified immunity!

  12. Get Ol “Run em down” Rafferty’s metadata and charge her with assault with a Canton PD cruiser and distracted driving. The witness clearly saw Mr. Barry’s reflective vest in the crosswalk. Better upcharge her with attempted murder, make her sell her home and sit in jail for four years. Fitting end to a disgraceful woman’s tenure in Canton PD.

  13. I do trust all the ideas youve presented in your post They are really convincing and will definitely work Nonetheless the posts are too short for newbies May just you please lengthen them a bit from next time Thank you for the post
