Canton Coverup Part 524: Grand Juror Who Leaked Information On Federal Investigation Into McAlberts Only Told Friends And Got Busted By Tweet About State Police CDL Scandal

Yesterday’s big news was that the FBI charged a federal juror in the investigation into the Karen Read case with leaking sealed information. Jessica Leslie, a 34 year old woman from Dracut, plead guilty in exchange for a sentence of one day in jail, which she has already served. This has caused a huge uproar online from people who are thirsty for new content, and predictably the reactions have been split along tribal lines as all parties view the developments through their lens of confirmation bias. Those who believe Karen Read is innocent view the charges as evidence that the federal investigation into the McAlberts and DA’s OFfice is ongoing, while those believe Read is guilty believe it is evidence that Karen Read and Turtleboy are the ones being investigated.

I’m here to let both sides know that this is likely just a huge nothing burger.

Many believed it was suspicious that this woman only was sentenced to “one day deem served.” They have opined that this is evidence that Jessica Leslie offered up information on someone else in exchange for this leniency. But the fact of the matter is that all she did was gossip about the grand jury to some girlfriends, and the feds don’t think it’s a serious crime, but they also want to send a message by publicly smearing her like this.

Here’s what actually happened:

• In early 2024 an anonymous Twitter account (run by a woman I spoke with last night and verified the identity of) posted that a federal grand jury had indicted half a dozen state troopers for accepting bribes in exchange for Commercial Driver’s Licenses for applicants who were previously denied.
• Days later on January 30, 2024, the DOJ announced the indictments, but it was not public knowledge when the anonymous Twitter account posted about it.
• The feds saw this tweet, which means it was sent to them by someone, or they monitor random accounts with less than 1K followers.
• The feds confronted found the woman who tweeted the previously sealed information about the pending indictments in the CDL scandals and confronted her about it.
• The woman was friends with a grand juror named Jessica Leslie, and were able to read messages between them confirming that Leslie was the source of this information.
• Leslie had been sitting on the grand jury since August of 2022, and was removed from the grand jury on March 4, 2024, after they found out she had been messaging her friends about the GJ.
• The grand jury Leslie sat on heard lots of cases that were brought in front of them, many of which did not end up being indicted, including the CDL investigation and the Karen Read investigation.
• The feds have Leslie’s phone so they are able to see everyone she “leaked” information to. They would be able to see that she spoke to her friends several times about the cases she was sitting in on, including the Read case. This is why she’s in trouble – she gabbed to her girlfriends in private chats about the GJ.
• The initial investigation into this woman was NOT over anything that was leaked about the Read case. The Feds found out she had been privately messaging her friends about the Read case AFTER they took her phone.
• The nexus of the investigation was the public tweet about CDL scandal indictments, which the public was not supposed to have any knowledge of at the time it was tweeted about by one of Leslie’s friends.
• Leslie’s friend who tweeted about the CDL indictments told me that the FBI visited her house with a printout of the tweet and took her phone. This is confirmation that they didn’t begin this investigation over anything related to Karen Read.

Skeptics are doubting my reporting that the CDL case was how this woman was caught, pointing out that the Boston Globe reported that Leslie leaked information, including “the names of various witnesses, who appeared before the grand jury, the substance of their testimony, and other evidence presented to the grand jury.”

1. Jessica Leslie may well have leaked information about the Read grand jury to her friends, but it doesn’t change the fact that she got caught because of the public tweet about the CDL’s.
2. The names of witnesses who testified in front of the grand jury were well known because multiple sources reported to me that they saw Jennifer McCabe, Colin Albert, Brian Albert and others walk into Joe Moakley Federal Courthouse and linger in the hallways all day.

Jurors are not allowed to leak information about testimony, but witnesses can. The McAlberts have continuously leaked information about their grand jury testimony through their spokesman Kevin “Plevin” Lenihan. He has repeatedly stated that Josh Levy confronted witnesses with a printout of one of my Canton Coverup articles.

I have no way of knowing this is true because unlike him I am not claiming to have a source inside the federal grand jury. It would be cool if Levy did use my articles as an exhibit to confront the McAlberts, but the only person reporting this is Plevin, who is not citing his sources.

To be clear, I wish I had a source on the federal grand jury, but the plea agreement with Jessica Leslie confirms that we never spoke. It would be a much bigger deal if she was intentionally giving information about sealed testimony to a reporter with a huge platform who is friendly with the Read defense team. But if she did, I would never have kept that to myself, and there would be a digital trail on her phone showing that.

Anyway, Jessica Leslie was not the only person posting information about the federal grand jury in February of 2024. A mentally unwell Westerly, RI wine mom named Amy DeAngelis was able to vividly describe Michael Proctor’s appearance and testimony on February 27, 2024.

Normally I wouldn’t take anything Amy says seriously because she’s a wackjob lunatic who desperately wants to feel important, once told me that she had an inside source who told her that Brian Higgins had flipped and that indictments were coming, and flipped from Free Karen Read to Krusty superfan girl because she got mad at me.

But her description of Proctor’s testimony turned out to be extremely accurate.

So yea, I’m sorry to get everyone’s hopes up, but this is just one grand juror who got caught telling her friends something she wasn’t supposed to tell them. She didn’t work for me, Karen Read, or the McAlberts. She’s not turning anyone else in for a reduced sentence. She just discussed something she legally wasn’t allowed to discuss with friends, but nothing about she leaked about the Karen Read grand jury was ever publicly posted. Only the CDL scandal stuff.
