This is Nicholas Gauvin from Revere.

He’s originally from Montreal and moved to Boston shortly before COVID. He obtained employment as a Community Service Officer at Northeastern, but like a Canadian his dream was becoming a NHL referee.

Like Karen Read, he is not from Norfolk County and has no connections there. However, in February of 2022 he traveled to Norfolk County to referee a hockey game in Foxboro. During the game a 20 year old player from one of the teams named Paul Halloran accidentally collided with Gauvin along the boards. No big deal, it happens in hockey. But Halloran took it too far when he then cross checked Gauvin and told him to “get the fuck out of the way, prompting Gauvin to eject him from the game. Halloran didn’t like this so he decided to viciously assault Gauvin by punching him in the face, causing him to fall down and hit his head on the hard as a rock ice.

That’s not part of the game – that’s a crime. Gauvin realized this and filed a report with the Foxboro Police Department, who looked into charging Halloran. Unfortunately Halloran had fled the scene with his father Ken Halloran, who happens to be an attorney, a lobbyist, and former State Trooper with a ton of political connections.

Ken Halloran happens to date Governor Maura Healey’s sister Tara, who is an advisor to the Governor.

Former Detective Lieutenant Halloran had a long and documented history of corruption while carrying a badge and a gun.

• In 2004 Halloran was a clerk magistrate in Falmouth District Court, but was forced to resign in disgrace following an investigation by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, after a complaint was filed against him alleging age and sex discrimination.
• In 2012 a trooper was run over and suffered broken bones during a traffic detail in Quincy when he tried to stop a stolen car, prompting a chase. Halloran was supposed to be there to back him up because he was on duty and being paid, but he had abandoned his fellow officers without his radio.
• As a result of this, charges of payroll violation against Halloran were sustained. Yet somehow, as often happens in policing, within two years he was rewarded for his corruption by being promoted to Detective Lieutenant.
• Halloran was also a licensed attorney. While making a Detective Lieutenant salary of $214K, he also served as the MSP’s liaison to lawmakers in Beacon Hill. His job as a lobbyist is to ensure that the State Legislature and governor enact favorable legislation for the Massachusetts State Police.
• Halloran was also a trustee at Massachusetts Maritime Academy, and came under fire over allegations that he used his influence to steer contracts to friends.
• In 2018 he was working in Norfolk County as Quincy District Court, where he was honored on “law day” by then Attorney General Maura Healey, whose sister he is porking.
• Halloran is now a partner in the Boston based consulting firm Smith, Rauschenbach & Halloran. His partner is ex-State Senator Henri Rauscenbach, who Howie Carr calls “Kickenbach” from his 1995 corruption trial on conflict of interest and conspiracy charges in Suffolk County, of which he was acquitted.

According to the Boston Globe, Ken Halloran was the State Police’s government relations director for 14 years, serving as its “point person” with legislators, their staff, and executive branch agencies, according to a bio posted by the lobbying firm where he’s now partner.

Nor surprisingly, the former State Police Detective Lieutenant, current attorney, and lobbyist who spends holidays with Maura Healey, knew to get his son out of there quickly after he assaulted Nicholas Gauvin. The Foxboro Police filed a criminal complaint immediately after watching the video, but the clerk magistrate hearing date to establish probable cause on June 15, 2022 was postponed. On November 22, 2022 Gauvin was told that the probable cause hearing had taken place, and that probable cause was found to charge Halloran with misdemeanor assault and battery.

The Norfolk County DA’s Office told Gauvin that there were 3 possibilities for what would happen with Paul Halloran:

1. a pre-trial diversion program (slap on the wrist, nothing goes on your record)
2. an arraignment and a continuance without a finding (one year probation that goes off your record if you don’t commit another crime)
3. an arraignment and trial

Gauvin, who was seriously injured in the assault, told the NCDAO that he wanted Halloran charged to the full extent of the law.

But that never happened.

Hidden in the over 4K pages of emails from Michael Morrissey’s burner email account was a letter that Gauvin wrote to Morrissey, which Morrissey did not reply to. The NCDAO got him in touch with his victim witness advocat Emily, who confirmed that Halloran would be charged to the full extent of the law, and that she would discuss any changes to that decision in advance with Gauvin. The arraignment date was set for December 2, but Halloran didn’t show up and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Emily assured Gauvin’s family that the pre-trial diversion slap on the wrist was off the table.

But then on December 27, 2022, Pam Friedman (the victim witness advocate for fake victim Lindsey Gaetani who attends all of my hearings) called Nicholas Gauvin and told him that ADA Michael Connolly had entered a nolle prosequi, meaning that the charges would be dropped. The Gauvin family was upset about this, and Friedman confirmed in the case file that the family specifically said they wanted him charged. Friedman told them to contact victim witness advocate Emily, who told the family she could no longer speak to them and abruptly hung up on them without answering any questions. The family contacted Wrentham District Court, looking for all paperwork related to the case, and were also ignored.

As the victim pointed out, he was only 22 when he was viciously attacked on the nice, yet he had the maturity not to strike back. Additionally, Paul Halloran did not qualify for pre-trial diversion because there was a warrant out for his arrest.

As a result of the Norfolk DA’s Office covering for the son of a well connected State Police Detective Lieutenant and lobbyist attorney, Nicholas Gauvin felt victimized all over again, and apparently is living with a disability from the assault.

Connolly stated in his decision to drop the charges against Halloran, that he was doing so because of his age (20), the fact that he was getting good grades at Suffolk, and was seeing a shrink to discuss why he felt the need to violently attack referees during games.

Gauvin filed a civil suit against Halloran in Suffolk Superior Court in 2024, which is still active. According to the lawsuit Gauvin sustained a concussion, and is suffering from acute stress disored, PTSD, and other injuries.

What did Michael Morrissey do with this letter he received from Gauvin? He used his burner email account to send it to Connolly with the subject “FYI.”

He didn’t ask Connolly any questions. He didn’t ask him why he dropped the charges without alerting the victim, after promising him they wouldn’t be doing that. He didn’t instruct him to make this right and reach out to Gauvin. And he certainly didn’t have the dignity to respond to Gauvin himself.

Paul Halloran is a young violent thug, but much like Colin Albert the Norfolk DA’s Office has gone to great lengths to protect him because of the family he comes from. I can’t find any pictures of him on social media, but according to a LinkedIn account he works for the Commonwealth now, after obtaining employment a month before the DA’s Office dropped the charges against him.

What he did to Nicholas Gauvin was a violent crime, but his well connected corrupt Daddy who’s banging the Governor’s sister helped him flea the scene of the crime, and eventually get the charges dropped against him. Meanwhile, this same DA’s Office wants to put me in jail for 105 years for doing YouTube presentations, holding peaceful protests, and miming into an empty pizza shop.
