Canton Coverup Part 552: All The Things Boston Globe Reporter Tonya Alanez Chose Not To Report From April 12, 2023 Court Filing

Karen Read’s defense team filed a 94 page affidavit from Alan Jackson on April 12, 2023, which highlighted for the first time that forensic evidence from Jennifer McCabe and John O’Keefe’s phones proved that John O’Keefe was killed inside Brian Albert’s house, and that she was framed for murder by the Massachusetts State Police. Read’s team probably assumed that the media would do their job and give this story the publicity it deserved after the defense hand fed them the story of the century on a silver platter. I can only imagine how disappointed they were when this was the headline in the Boston Globe from “reporter” Tonya Alanez:

Alan Jackson comes from the land of Hollywood, where years ago a movie was made called “Spotlight”, which won 6 Academy Awards in 2016 for telling the story about how the Globe broke the story about the Catholic Church covering up the rape of dozens of young boys by priests. The Spotlight team didn’t get this story by regurgitating court documents, they got it by tracking down sources who were too afraid to come forward, making them feel comfortable, and convincing them to tell the truth so that an injustice could be reported on. They published this story because they understood that it was the media’s job to seek truth and make sure that powerful institutions were held accountable. In doing so the Boston Globe would sell newspapers and give their readers a reason to continue to pay for subscriptions. It is likely what Jackson believed they would do with this equally as salacious story, but he was badly mistaken.

Despite being active on social media Alanez has tweeted about Karen Read and John O’Keefe exactly zero times, and yet was given the task of reporting on the most egregious murder coverup we’ve ever seen.

It was all right in front of her and this is what she wrote for a headline and used for a cover photo:

“Lawyers say new evidence will clear girlfriend of Boston police officer charged with his murder”

  1. They chose to use a picture of Karen Read in shackles, looking raggedy, which gives the reader the impression that she is the bad guy.
  2. Lawyers always say that new evidence will clear their clients, so there is nothing about this headline that grabs the reader’s attention or makes them want to read more about it.
  3. The headline doesn’t mention anything about what the evidence is and who it implicates. If the headline said, “Lawyers for woman charged with murdering Boston police officer boyfriend say new evidence implicates fellow Boston Police officer” it would’ve gotten significantly more attention.

If left to their own devices the mainstream media would’ve continued to report the story this way. There would’ve been no buzz, no social media discussion, no crowds outside the court, no $1.1 million raised for Karen Read’s legal defense, no demands for justice for John O’Keefe, and the people who framed Karen Read for murdering her boyfriend would continue to be the only ones showing up to sit in the courtroom. Court TV likely would’ve covered the trial, and perhaps then other content creators would take an interest in the case, but there was no guarantee of that. Not enough people were talking about it.

Six days later this happened:

The title and cover photos you give to your articles is the most important thing you need to do if you want people to actually read what you are writing. Traditionally this has been the goal of the media, but not anymore. This is what has opened the door for independent journalists like myself to start their own platforms that are self-sustainable. The article got close to half a million page views and directed people to my YouTube channel where I began broadcasting about the story several times a week for the next 3 years, uncovering more information the more I looked into the story.

Which of these 2 headlines would attract your attention more:

“Lawyers say new evidence will clear girlfriend of Boston police officer charged with his murder”

“Corrupt State Trooper Helps Boston Cop Coverup Murder Of Fellow Officer, Frame Innocent Girlfriend”

Everything I said in that headline is backed up with evidence provided in the same court filings that Tonya Alanez had access to. But it’s not just the headlines, it’s the information in the article that informs the reader about the facts and evidence they should know about. Here is a brief list of things that I included in my article, which Tonya Alvarez did not, despite having access to the same April 12, 2023 court filing:

  • The names Michael Proctor, Colin Albert, or Brian Higgins
  • Brian Albert’s history as a boxer and a decorated dude
  • Karen Read barely knew any of these people, especially Jennifer McCabe, who the Globe called a “friend” of Karen’s
  • No taillight discovered during a Canton Police search, but it was discovered 11 hours later by an unknown State Police Trooper after Proctor had taken custody of Read’s car and it had arrived back in Canton
  • No snowbank, despite the Globe reporting John ‘s body was behind a snowbank
  • John’s autopsy photos showed black eyes, bruised knuckles, a 2 inch laceration in the back of the head, and dog bites on his arm, all of which are inconsistent with a motor vehicle collision
  • Proctor lied about towing Karen’s vehicle at 5:30, when in reality it was towed at 4:15
  • Michael Proctor’s family was close friends with the Alberts, which was there for the entire world to see due to Courtney Proctor’s Facebook posts
  • Colin Albert was inside Brian Albert’s house and had a history of animosity towards John and violent behavior
  • Colin Albert was the ring bearer in Courtney Proctor’s wedding and was beloved by her, but was never mentioned in any of Proctor’s reports as being present at Brian Albert’s house that night
  • Colin Albert had scabs on his knuckles in a photograph taken 4 weeks after John O’Keefe was found dead with 2 black eyes and bruises on his knuckles
  • An ATF agent with an office inside the Canton Police Department was romantically interested in the victim’s girlfriend, had been secretly texting her 30 minutes prior before being restrained and kicked out of the bar, and was inside the house that O’Keefe walked inside of but never came out alive
  • Brian Albert’s brother and Colin Albert’s father was a recently elected Select board member who defeated a liberal Yale Law School educated incumbent in a town that Joe Biden won 2 to 1, giving him control and oversight of the police department
  • Brian Albert’s other brother was a detective on the Canton Police Department
  • Brian Albert’s other brother made a threatening Facebook post threatening anyone who “fucked” with his family days after Read’s team accused the Alberts of being involved in John’s murder
  • Brian Albert put his generational family home on the market shortly after being accused by Read’s defense team in court filings of being involved in the murder
  • The Deputy Police Chief lived across the street and had a security camera pointed directly at the spot where John O’Keefe was allegedly struck by a car, but never was asked to provide the video from that night
  • Red solo cups were used to collect blood evidence
  • Jennifer McCabe deleted her 2:27 Google search
  • Jennifer McCabe deleted all communications on her phone between her and Brian Albert
  • Jennifer McCabe never went to sleep after a night of drinking and was awake at 4:53 when Karen Read called her looking for John
  • Jennifer McCabe called her sister Nicole at 6:07 and 6:08, both calls were answered, yet Nicole claims she was sleeping the entire time
  • All of Jennifer McCabe’s phone calls between 5 and 9 AM on the morning John’s body was found were deleted, but no phone calls before or after were deleted
  • Brian Albert, a trained first responder with an aggressive dog that slept with him and barked a lot, slept through 30 minutes of a hysterical woman screaming on his front lawn, and multiple fire trucks and police officers with their lights on
  • Chloe the dog was re-homed months after a dead Boston cop was found on Brian Albert’s lawn with dog bites on his arm
  • Ryan Nagel and 2 other witnesses pulled up behind Karen Read’s call and told Proctor that John O’Keefe wasn’t inside the car, meaning he could only be inside the house
  • John O’Keefe’s phone ascended and descended 3 flights of stairs
  • There was Ring camera footage showing Karen Read cracking her taillight on John O’Keefe’s Chevy Traverse at 5:07 AM
  • Police Chief Ken Berkowitz, who was close friends with Brian Higgins and Brian Albert, “found” more taillight on the lawn from a moving vehicle a week after John’s body was found and Read had been arrested
  • Proctor intentionally made sure that Google didn’t send him all the Geo fence data which would’ve shown everyone who was inside the house and at what times

All of this was mentioned in my April 18 story and none of it was mentioned in the Globe’s April 12 story. The last thing the McAlberts, MSP, and NCDAO wanted was the media reporting on the facts of this case. If this had happened 20 years ago when the Globe’s Spotlight team was actually reporting on news and looking for the real story behind the story, then there would’ve been no reason for me to write about any of this. Tonya Alanez would be Turtleboy. But they didn’t, because modern day journalists are lazy hacks who simply regurgitate whatever the government feeds them in court filings and press releases. Tonya Alanez either didn’t read the 94 page court filing or didn’t think any of this was newsworthy. Either way, it was journalistic malpractice that directly benefitted the conspirators until the real truth came out a week later on Turtleboy Daily News.
