Brigham And Women’s Nurses Mock Father Being Denied Heart Transplant Because He Hasn’t Taken COVID Vaccine

This is David “DJ” Ferguson and his girlfriend Heather from Northbridge.
They are the parents of two young boys with a third baby on the way, and DJ is in need of a heart transplant. Luckily is first in line at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. However, because he has’t been coerced into taking the COVID vaccine he is being denied this life saving healthcare by the hospital:
David Ferguson is speaking out passionately on behalf of his son DJ. He says the 31-year-old is fighting for his life at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and in desperate need of a heart transplant. “My son has gone to the edge of death to stick to his guns and he’s been pushed to the limit,” Ferguson said. The family says he was at the front of the line to receive a transplant but because he has not received the COVID-19 vaccination he is no longer eligible according to hospital policy. And Ferguson says his son refuses to get the shot.
“It’s kind of against his basic principles, he doesn’t believe in it. It’s a policy they are enforcing and so because he won’t get the shot, they took him off the list of a heart transplant,” Ferguson said.
Brigham and Women’s released a statement saying, “And like many other transplant programs in the United States – the COVID-19 vaccine is one of several vaccines and lifestyle behaviors required for transplant candidates in the Mass General Brigham system in order to create both the best chance for a successful operation and also the patient’s survival after transplantation.”
Dr. Arthur Caplan is Head of Medical Ethics at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. He says being vaccinated is necessary for this type of procedure. “Post any transplant, kidney, heart whatever, your immune system is shut off,” Caplan said. “The flu could kill you, a cold could kill you, COVID could kill you. The organs are scarce, we are not going to distribute them to someone who has a poor chance of living when others who are vaccinated have a better chance post-surgery of surviving.”
DJ remains at BWH. He is a father of two children with a third on the way. The family says they are not sure what they plan to do. They are thinking about transferring him, but he may be too weak to move. “We are aggressively pursuing all options, but we are running out of time,” Ferguson said.
While the family says DJ has received great care from doctors and nurses at Brigham and Women’s, they just don’t agree with the heart transplant COVID vaccination policy. “I think my boy is fighting pretty damn courageously and he has integrity and principles he really believes in and that makes me respect him all the more,” he said.
Which is why the family is sticking by his side and hoping for the best. “It’s his body. It’s his choice,” Ferguson said.
They couldn’t convince him that he needed the COVID vaccine because their messaging is so contradictory and ineffective, so now they’re telling me he can have a new heart and live but only if he gets in line and helps Joe Biden increase the vaccination rate for his next chart.
These people are truly evil. To have your life saved at BWH you have to conform to their “lifestyle behaviors.” So will they be denying fat people organ transplants? There’s no one more at risk of dying from COVID than the morbidly obese. Will people with a history of drinking be denied liver transplants? They might start hitting the bottle again and destroy another liver. Will smokers be denied chemotherapy if they get lung cancer? Or does smoking conform to BWH’s lifestyle behaviors?
Let’s not forget that many people who have gotten the jab have had blood clots as a direct result. Now they’re trying to force a guy whose lungs are filled with blood and fluids to get a vaccine that could easily make that worse, in order to be granted a new heart. Because, science.
Where is the data showing that people who don’t get the COVID vaccine are more likely to die after they get heart transplants? Dr. Arthur Caplan, who ironically is on TV for his medical ethics takes, says that hearts should go to those who have the best chance of living afterwards. Show me the data that a 31 year old man with a new heart is likely to die if he doesn’t get the jab. I’ll wait.
Dianne Ploss, who is a lunatic and an embarrassment to conservatives, has organized a protest outside of the hospital, which has upset many of the MNA Nurses at BWH.
We have written about this Facebook group before, as it has become a forum for BWH nurses to bully and intimidate their fellow union members and medical professionals who have chosen not get vaccinated.
Any nurse who goes against the MNA’s official position of “the unvaccinated all deserve to be fired and denied healthcare” is attacked in the group. Very few had the balls to post something like this:
According to nurse Kelly McEnelly, DJ Ferguson is an idiot who they can lead to water, but can’t make him drink.
She is willing to let him die because she doesn’t like his healthcare choices and his politics. She is a bad person, and a disgrace to her profession.
Charlene Carey doesn’t think DJ Ferguson should get a new heart because her ex-boyfriend and ex-husband can’t get one.
You’re way too old to be talking about ex-boyfriends Charlene.
“Get the damn vaccine and get a heart.”
Maybe if you people had a heart you wouldn’t be so morbid and evil. These are the rantings and ravings of a mentally unwell person who has no business making healthcare decisions for others:

Rosalie Blenkhorn called DJ Ferguson a “dummy” and said that a new heart was too precious to waste on him:
The OP pointed out that it was unprofessional and inappropriate to say that about a patient who deserves dignity and respect. According to Rosalie this made the OP disrespectful and judgmental, while she was being disrespectful and judgmental to a patient at her hospital.
They can’t even see what hypocrites they are.
On Facebook Rosalie usually spends her time posting about what a hero nurses like her are, and that they deserve raises as a result of unvaccinated nurses being fired.
She calls people who die from COVID “stupid,” and thinks it’s funny when they pass.
She also mocks Republicans a lot, and seems to be so dumb that she believes that polio and COVID are an equal threat to children.
Anyone this stupid has no business working in healthcare.
A male nurse named Dean Katana also posted a picture of what he claims to be white nationalists who were there to support DJ.
Same energy:
I mean, they’re not even trying anymore. Guys, we know they’re all Feds or Democratic operatives. We’re not stupid. We know large groups of white supremacists don’t show up in public in Boston advertising themselves as such. We know that you’re using the usual Lincoln Project playbook by trying to associate a completely legitimate protest over DJ Ferguson with white nationalism in order to discredit his real supporters. Nobody believes you anymore.
This is par for the court for male nurse Dean Katica though. He vowed to sue us in September after we wrote the blog about the MNA bully nurses.
Dean was also in the news in December of 2020 after he ran to them crying because his driveway got covered in snow by a plow outside his Jamaica Plain condo.
“Man in densely populated city has to shovel snow in order to drive car! More updates at 10.”
You live in Boston. This literally happens to everyone who lives in a city, and it’s not news. But Dean Katica thinks he’s special because he’s a male nurse, and he must never deal with the inconveniences that other Boston residents deal with during the winter. He’s just too important.
In response to these protests BWH sent out two emails. The first encouraged nurses to snitch on anyone supporting the protesters.
The second email expressed dismay about the obviously staged white nationalists protesting outside the hospital.
In fairness, last April two BWH doctors wrote an email saying that the hospital would be giving people of color preference when it came to life saving healthcare. So the hospital is in fact racist, but that was 9 months ago and it seems unlikely white nationalists would wait until the coldest week of the year to protest outside.
I briefly spoke with the mother of DJ Ferguson’s children today, and she informed me that he is getting LVAD surgery today, which puts in a pump that will allow him to survive for a while without a transplant. She’s not happy with the media coverage thus far, and doesn’t trust any except for Turtleboy. Every one of these nurses posting stuff like this on social media should be fired. They HATE you if you don’t conform to their political beliefs, and they’re literally willing to let you die and laugh at you if you don’t get in line and take the vaccine and every booster that comes along with it.
