Yesterday protesters blockaded the BU bridge that separates Boston from Cambridge, because they’re mad that a Jewish nation thousands of miles away declared war on a terrorist group that attacked them from an imaginary country that only exists in the minds of communists.

The Israel-Palestine issue is complicated, and I have no interest in talking about it. The Karen Read case has been a healthy distraction from contentious political issues like this one, which are not nearly as simple to understand as a bunch of corrupt cops covering up a murder. Plus, the Karen Read story is happening in our backyard, and is a much bigger threat to our collective safety than a war that doesn’t involve us thousands of miles from our shores. But I thought this tweet from the Massachusetts State Police was pretty telling.

That was at 8:18 AM. They just let these communists shut down a major bridge during rush hour because they didn’t feel like arresting anyone. Their plan was apparently to wait them out until they got bored and went home, which they did around 10:30.

But here’s the crazy part – if the cops wanted to shut this down without arresting anyone, all they had to do was pick up ANY person in the state who is currently a witness, potential witness, or family member of a witness, drive them to this bridge, and then the protest would have to end. You are not allowed to protest or picket within eyesight of ANY witness, family member of a witness, or potential witness in ANY judicial proceedings, according to the statute.

I’ve been charged with 9 counts of witness intimidation for leading a rolling rally where we spent 7 minutes peacefully protesting on residential streets in Canton. No one trespassed on anyone’s property, no one intentionally blocked roads for a political cause, and no one was intimidated.

Maybe if we do another rolling rally we can bring our Free Palestine flags and block all the major roads in town. Apparently protesting is only illegal when you’re protesting people who covered up a murder.
