  • Bao, a YouTuber with no affiliation who got a ride home from Krusty Panties, was arrested outside for being in the buffer zone and streaming. He was not given a chance to leave and was being told where to safely go by 2 State Troopers. This is a blatant First Amendment violation.  (10 minute mark)

  • Auntie Bev ruled that Hank Brennan cannot use actors to do dramatic readings of Karen Read’s text messages with John O’Keefe, but then also ruled that ARCCA could not be mentioned in Alan Jackson’s opening because he didn’t bring in some text messages. This caused a huge commotion that led to a sidebar, which apparently did nothing because the ruling remained the same.
  • Paul O’Keefe was in rare douchebag form, mouthing things to Karen Read and staring me down on the way out of court. For the first time his wife Erin O’Keefe was with him since it was revealed that Paul uses these hearings to send secret love messages to his online girlfriend. Court officers admonished Paul for staring me down and told him not to do it again.

  • This jury is VERY different from the first trial. I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say about them and what I’m not, so I will withhold my comments until another time.
  • Laura McLaughlin is not sitting with the Commonwealth. As usual, Adam Lally is doing nothing at all.
  • Hank Brennan’s opening was admittedly better than Adam Lally’s. He didn’t read off a script, he walked around a lot, and he made Karen Read sound a lot more dastardly than Lally did.
  • Hank claimed in the opening that Karen Read pulled up 35 feet after dropping off John O’Keefe, not 62 feet like at last trial. He claims that Karen Read then put the car in neutral, before gunning it in reverse and striking John O’Keefe. This is even less believable than the theory at last trial. You can’t reach 24.2 mph in 62 feet, so you definitely can’t reach 24.2 mph in 35 feet. It also means that John O’Keefe stood there, waiting for his angry psycho girlfriend to run him over.
  • Hank Brennan says that cell phone battery temperature of John’s phone will prove that Karen Read hit him. But then he went on to say that it didn’t come close to 18 degrees, which it would if it was outside in 18 degree weather for 5.5 hours.
  • In perhaps the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard since Joseph Paul testified, Spanky said that John O’Keefe got hit by a car, didn’t fall for 20 seconds, and during those 20 seconds he read a text message from Jen McCabe.
  • Spanky played an out of context clip from Dateline in which Karen Read explained why she was confused that morning and thought to herself “could I have clipped him?” She then went on to say that John did not appear to be mortally wounded, in order to make it sound like she was referring to when she dropped him off. In reality she was talking about when she found him at 6:04 and said that he didn’t look mortally wounded.
  • Alan Jackson’s opening was masterful. Instead of stressing that Karen Read was framed he repeatedly stated that there was no collision. He also brought up reasonable doubt several times. This indicates a different strategy designed to focus on the fact that the Commonwealth can’t prove Karen Read hit John O’Keefe with her car, instead of focusing on the fact that he was beaten up inside the house and a coverup ensued afterwards.
  • Michael Proctor will be heavily brought up by the defense as he was in the opening. They have a huge advantage since he has been fired, which Alan Jackson pointed out was for his conduct in the Read case, not any other case.
  • By far the biggest bombshell on the day is that the defense’s new medical examiner is going to testify that John O’Keefe didn’t die from hypothermia. If John didn’t die from hypothermia it means he wasn’t out on the lawn for very long.
  • The first witness this time was firefighter Timothy Nuttall, rather than Paul O’Keefe. He testified that on direct examination that Karen Read said “I hit him” 3 times in front of him as he was tending to John O’Keefe, and showed the exact point on the dash cam video where she said that. You cannot hear her say anything close to that, but you can hear her yelling “JEN!!”
  • Nuttall was a disaster on cross examination. He admitted that he changed his story from Karen Read saying “I hit him” 2 times, to 3 times, AFTER speaking with Brian Tully.
  • Jackson was toying with him repeatedly, getting him to make the ridiculous claim that his memory got better over time. This backfired when Nuttall couldn’t remember something he spoke with Brennan about yesterday.
  • Nuttall reluctantly testified that John O’Keefe’s injuries are consistent with being punched in the face.
  • Nuttall testified on re-direct with Brennan that Karen Read was running around telling lots of people “I hit him,” not just the one time he originally testified when she was right next to him.
  • On re-cross Nuttall testified that he forgot to testify on direct examination that Karen Read was running around telling lots of people “I hit him,” because no one asked him. This is the first time he has EVER said this, and it directly contradicts what was seen on the dash cam video.
  • Hank Brennan surprisingly called Kerry Roberts as his second witness. During the first trial she wasn’t called until several weeks into the trial and was never cross examined by the defense. Expect that to change in the retrial.
  • Kerry Roberts testified that Karen Read told her “John’s dead” at 5 AM. Yet for some reason Karen then agreed to have Kerry and Jen McCabe help her search inside John’s house.
  • Kerry Roberts’ phone call to the police was played, and at no point did she tell Sgt. Goode that Karen Read had just confessed to her that she killed John O’Keefe.
  • A major difference in the retrial thus far is that the Commonwealth is losing LOTS of objections, and the defense is having more of their objections sustained. Auntie Bev seems mildly peeved with Spanky.
  • This trial should go faster than the last one, largely because Spanky is much faster than Lally and doesn’t ask as many stupid, pointless questions. He has not said “what, if any” once.

  1. Say what you will, Spanky, as corrupt and misguided as he is, is a significant upgrade from Dingdong Lally.

    AJ’s beard game is awful

Jen McCabe is going to get eviscerated again. Can’t wait.

Karen is still a needy psycho but innocent.

    1. Everything you’ve stated? My entire family agrees with 1000%. Including the cats, Jasper and Noogie. Thank You

  2. I can’t wait to see Alessi vs. these Canton townies. He is going to destroy people.

Side note: I personally think KR had something to do with luring JOK to that house and Prosecution/Law enforcement, his family know/believe the same. There’s no other explanation for them continuing to run this nonsensical prosecution. In their eyes, none of this ever happens, if she wasn’t involved with that big oaf Higgins. So it’s all her fault (hence, pin it on the girl).

    1. KR “lured” him to the house? By giving him a ride there after he got invited by the homeowner??

    2. The prosecution/law enforcement have never once claimed they thought Karen had a part on “luring John to 34 Fairview,” and it’s undisputed that Jen invited John, who told Karen they’d been invited. Karen then said, “Are you sure we’re invited? I wasn’t – I didn’t hear that.” That is backed up by the fact that she didn’t even feel welcome to go in at first, and asked him to go make sure the homeowners were ok with them coming. That tracks. It makes sense. The Waterfall video shows Higgins luring John, so what is there to speculate about?

How could you think “there’s no other reason for them to pursue this nonsensical prosecution?” The reason is 1) Cops have a bias in favor of cops & against non-cops. 2) Proctor’s texts to his buddies on 1/29/22 explicitly confirm that – as well as admitting “The Powers That Be” (his bosses & DA Morrissey) wanted the case wrapped up quickly and for it to be cut & dry (ie. When a cop’s k¡lled, someone must pay, and it’s not gonna be a fellow cop). 3) The DA is elected. He’s a politician who gains popularity by getting convictions in big cases – he’s in too deep to quit now & needs to save face. 4) Brian Albert destroyed or re-homed all of the evidence of his crime (which is, itself, suspicious behavior, by the way), so Karen’s their ONLY option at this point!

      1. The prosecution/law enforcement couldn’t admit they think she had a part in luring him there because that would then confirm that he was beaten inside the house. C’mon now.

How do you know it’s Brian Albert’s crime? The crime may have taken place at his house and he definitely protected his family and friends, but it’s utter speculation to say that it’s “his crime”.

  3. I think Kerry was in car with John’s parents on the way to hospital. Can the defense ask what was said? While we blame Jen for the story, I think this was the beginning of the blame KR campaign.

  4. Feels like Spanky is worse than Lally! Nobody including Bias Bev likes a Whiny fucking baby that needs his chin wiped off by the judge! His nasal voice is annoying as hell. Bev felt the need to protect the lumpy looser in the last round but she isn’t gonna help Spanky as much. Can’t wait to watch AJ squeeze the shit out of Kerry’s ears tomorrow!

  5. Why didn’t she go into the house? Her story seemed to have switched up on why she didn’t. First it was she didn’t feel good and then it was she wanted to make sure they were explicitly invited… She wasn’t invited despite just hanging with the entire group at the bar?

Her and John were also hanging out with Brian Albert at Hillside Pub just a week prior to the 29th. Remember the picture of John and Brian that they entered into evidence during Albert’s testimony? That Karen apparently took on her phone. They were clearly friendly/familiar enough to be out drinking together. Why did she feel like she needed some direct invite? They weren’t complete strangers.

Also, it’s almost undeniable she was banging that Higgins fool. During one of the first pre-trial hearings Yanetti openly admitted she went to Higgins house one night, but “nothing happened other than a peck of a kiss”. 40 year olds don’t go to a romantic interests house to just peck on the lips and leave.

It’s pretty clear JOK was beaten to death and was not hit by a vehicle. I’m just not sure she is completely innocent in the matter. She either knew something was about to go down or maybe wanted him to get roughed up. Doesn’t make any sense why she never went inside. Then you add in the voicemails saying she hates him, calling him a pervert. I could be wrong but it just smells too fishy.

    1. It’s ridiculous to say there’s no reason she didn’t go inside, so she “must have lured him there & wanted him to get roughed up.” That’s so illogical.

She has stomach issues, so she wanted to go home. The guy she flirted with & ghosted was inside, so she wanted to avoid drama. The McAlberts weren’t friends of hers, and they’re nit good people, so she was not particularly interested in prolonging their time together.

There, see? 3 completely logical & valid reasons why she didn’t go in that don’t implicate her in any crime!

      1. You gotta take the pink glasses off for a couple minutes. She was friends with McCabe. They had hung out numerous times long before this all. You don’t remember the whole MS connection and John wanting to them to get to know one another/be friends? And you completely glossed over the fact that her and John were hanging out with Brian Albert, just them, the week before at Hillside. She took a pic of them together. They showed it during first trial. She was more friendly with the “McAlberts” than you are assuming.

        1. @red face

You’re reachin’ , you’re wicked reachin’ (vernacular). You’ve decided on this new little angle and that’s cool – whatevah. When you stahht slingin’ “take the pink glasses off” ???? You’re just askin’ fa trubble on a TB page. Tell your story, but tell it walkin’ away.
