LeBron James Becomes Money Luther King By Bowing To His Chinese Masters

LeBron James is the biggest d-bag on the planet. I truly hate him.

I hate the way he plays basketball.

I hate the fact that he’s the greatest physical specimen the league has ever seen, but yet he still feels the need to flop and whine, even though no player in the history of the league has ever gotten the kind of favorable calls he has.

I hate that a generation of kids who never got to see Michael Jordan play thinks that LeBron is the GOAT.

I hate that he thinks he’s an enlightened social justice warrior whose opinions on anything matter.

I hate that he completely fabricated a hate crime at his Los Angeles mansion two years ago, the media bought into it, and never questioned the fact that his story was filled with obvious lies.

I hate that the greatest basketball player in the world today feels the need to be divisive and political, to the point where he was campaigning with Hillary Clinton in a failed attempt to win Ohio’s 18 electoral votes.

I hate the fact that he said “I don’t think a lot of people was educated,” when asked why Trump won.

I hate the fact that he pretends to be a woke left wing activist while making millions of dollars off of shoes that are produced by people making less than minimum wage, in a country that emits more carbon emissions than the USA and Europe combined.

I hate the fact that he has the power to tell Nike that all of his shoes must be made in Akron, but has them made in China because he can make more money that way.

I hate that he’s applauded for being some sort of intelligent and thoughtful individual, when in reality he barely has a high school degree, and the only reason he’s famous is because he’s 6’9″, can dribble and shoot the lights out, and probably took a whole bunch of steroids since the NBA doesn’t test for that.

I hate LeBron James. But what he did yesterday was by far the worst thing he’s ever done. Let’s start from the top.

A couple weeks ago Houston Rockets GM Daryl Morey tweeted out support for protesters in Hong Kong, who have been fighting back against oppression from the Chinese government for months now.

But the problem is that the NBA makes billions of dollars a year by selling merchandise and TV rights in China, where it’s the most popular league in the world’s biggest country. The Red Chinese government didn’t like this at all because communist countries don’t allow dissenting voices to speak freely, especially when they’re supporting democracy.

The NBA is the wokest of the four major sports leagues (MLB, NBA, NHL, NFL), where players like LeBron and coaches like Greg Popovich and Steve Kerr routinely use their platforms to criticize President Trump for his lack of wokeness, and alleged trend toward authoritarianism. Whenever they speak out against Trump they’re applauded by the media and fans for being brave, but in reality there’s nothing brave about criticizing Trump. It’s fashionable and popular. You’re not taking a risk by doing it, but you would be taking a risk if you had a MAGA hat in your locker like Tom Brady did.

If the NBA wanted to stay consistent in their wokeness they would’ve stood by Morey since he was defending democracy against totalitarianism. But doing so could upset the Chinese government, who could ban the NBA from their country and shut off the league from over a billion potential customers.

They chose the latter. Popovich and Kerr both played dumb. Kerr said he didn’t have time to research the topic, because evidently communism, democracy, and freedom aren’t something he’s familiar with.

After having time to research Chinese communism Kerr came to the conclusion that America was just as bad as China because law abiding Americans can legally purchase AR-15s.

Then it was discovered that Kerr had previously retweeted something in support of Hong Kong protesters, but only in the larger context of criticizing conservatives like Boris Johnson and Benjamin Netanyahu.

Popovich praised the NBA for cowering to the Chinese, then deflected by ranting about how Trump was even worse, as if putting millions of Chinese Muslims in concentration camps was a moral equivalent to whatever Trump has done.

And in the most Orwellian thing I’ve ever seen a CNN reporter was silenced by NBA officials who banned her from asking James Harden and Russell Westbrook about Chinese oppression.

But LeBron said nothing at all until yesterday, which was probably a good thing because what he said was quite possibly the dumbest thing any human being has ever said. Watch.

For a guy with a high school degree he sure likes to call other people uneducated. Daryl Morey has a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern and a MBA from MIT, but the guy with a high school diploma is the smart one here. Let me just break this one down piece by piece.

“Yes, we all do have freedom of speech, but at times there are ramifications that can happen when you’re not thinking about others, and you only think about yourself.”

I wrote about this in my book, and it’s a real pet peeve of mine. This whole, “you have freedom of speech but not freedom from consequences” is a totalitarian sellout line. If there are consequences for being free, then you are not really free.

“I believe he wasn’t educated on the situation at hand, and he spoke.”

Again, Morey has a MBA and LeBron has a high school degree. Pretty sure Morey is more educated on geopolitical affairs and democracy in general.

“And so many people could have been harmed, not only financially, but physically, emotionally, spiritually. So just be careful what we tweet, what we say, what we do.”

There it is. People could’ve been harmed financially. The multi-millionaire player, and the billionaire owners could’ve lost pennies on the dollar by supporting one of their employees who supported democracy on social media. LeBron James cried when Laura Ingraham told him to shut up and dribble in 2018 after he shared uneducated political opinions on social media. He said it was racist for her to tell a basketball player to stick to basketball. Now he’s doing the exact same thing to Morey – telling him to shut up and be a GM. Kerr, Popovich, and LeBron are complete frauds who will criticize Trump because there’s no danger in it, but won’t criticize their Chinese masters because it might cost them financially.

But he wasn’t done putting his foot in his mouth, and since he clearly has no one giving him sound advice he decided to go on Twitter and double down.

No, we heard you the first time champ. You don’t think Morey thought about the financial consequences of openly questioning your Chinese puppet masters. He didn’t think about how it would hurt your bottom line. You don’t want to talk about the substance of the Hong Kong protests because you don’t know anything about them, and you’re so ignorant that you probably don’t even realize that China is a communist dictatorship. You think that people should shut up and dribble when their speech in support of things that actually matter hurts your bottom line. You see no irony in the fact that you tweeted last year that “our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”

Which is exactly what Money Luther King is suggesting Morey do.

Ratio be damned, he kept going.

You poor thing. You had to stay in a five star hotel while flying first class to China. Then you had to dribble a basketball. Must’ve been so hard. Way harder than the day to day life of millions of Uighars currently in concentration camps because they were born into the wrong religion in the wrong country. It’s Morey’s fault for not waiting until you got back from China to openly support democracy on social media. How dare he think about the millions of people suffering under actual oppression when he should’ve been thinking about a pampered millionaire.

Meanwhile, new Celtics center Enes Kanter just murdered LeBron with this tweet.

I already love this guy. Kanter can’t go back to Turkey because he’s criticized their totalitarian dictator. That’s what real oppression and real sacrifice looks like. That’s what happens when someone has the balls to speak out on something that can get them in trouble, instead of campaigning for Hillary Clinton which would be widely applauded.

In my book I warned people about the dangers of censorship. When you have to choose between making money and speaking freely, then you are not truly free. Democracy can only work when ideas are allowed to be exchanged freely in the public square. China doesn’t pretend to be a democracy, and they believe censorship is a good thing. They can run their country as they see fit, and we will run ours as we see fit.

But this has opened my eyes to the threat that China really possesses. Nobody is allowed to criticize them. Greta Thunberg hasn’t mentioned them once, despite being the face of climate activism. The free speech of NBA employees is being banned because of the economic threats that Chinese markets possess. Fans at games are being kicked out for wearing “Free Hong Kong” shirts, in the United States.

Their oppressive system is now dictating speech in this country, and that should scare everyone.

  1. I don’t care at all about China, or LeBron, or basketball. Some pieces of paper that say you learned enough stuff as determined by an arbitrary grading system by paying money to do so doesn’t mean you’re more educated than anyone on any given issue. I know some extremely educated and intelligent people that only possess high school diplomas. I know some absolute ignorant morons with multiple letters after their names. It’s all in how you choose to educate yourself. Pretty sure you just hate LeBron. Which is fine, but don’t mask it with he must be dumb because he didn’t go to college.
