I was invited to speak in Lexington at a closed door meeting for Republicans today. This was my first ever public speaking event, and I probably could’ve gone for a lot longer but had to keep it short and to the point for time’s sake. I’m willing to speak in front of any group of people regardless of whether or not we disagree, because the essence of democracy is the free exchange of ideas. Although this was a Republicans club I could give a similar speech in front of a group of liberals, and explain some things I like about the left and other things I think they need to work on.
