Man Uses Disabled Mother’s Placard To Illegally Park In Handicapped Spot In Wareham
There is parking in a handicapped spot illegally, and then there is this.
“Happened in the shopping centre parking lot in front of the post office (2991C Cranberry Hwy, East Wareham). I watched the guy walk into the post office. Infuriating on principle alone, but the fact that the head-on adjacent space was available was even more ridiculous. When called out on it he stated, “its my moms car.” She was no where to be seen and was never in the car or near it when he came or left. Meanwhile this is an actual handicap person who parked in a normal spot.”
Just to be clear – you’re not allowed to use your disabled mother’s handicapped placard if she’s not with you. And even if she was with you, the yellow lines aren’t there for you to park in, they’re there so that vans with passengers in wheelchairs can have space to disembark from the vehicle. The fact that people are willing to go to this length to avoid walking an extra 20 feet tells you everything you need to know about why we are one of the fattest countries on earth.
