Newbury School Resource Officer Dumps Wife He Groomed And Dated Immediately After Graduation To Pursue New Relationship With Student Immediately After Graduation

John is a legacy cop, as his father John Lucey Jr. was the previous police chief of Newbury.

John III became the school resource officer at Triton Regional High School, and was heavily promoted on social media for stuff involving students.

A recent freedom of information act request has shown that he has apparently used his position as a school resources officer for more than a decade to score chicks. Lucey was smart enough to wait until after they graduated until he started making the moves on them, but immediately began pursuing relationships with them as soon as they graduated. This is known as “grooming,” and although it’s not illegal, it’s incredibly creepy.

This is no ordinary story of grooming though. Officer Lucey began dating one student named Beatrice shortly after she received her diploma in 2012. Here they are at the prom.

His old man found out about it, told him he had to dump her, and they started dating other people for a little while before rekindling the romance in 2013. They ended up getting married in 2018 and had a couple kids. But there was just one problem – she was getting too old for him, and no longer looked like the 18 year old he fell in love with after giving him two children.

They separated in 2023 and got divorced in 2024, and the grooming cycle apparently started all over again. According to a recent investigation that led to his resignation, Lucey started dating another girl as soon as she graduated in 2023.

Like his first wife, he met this one through the theater program.

Officer Lucey for some reason was allowed to participate in a school production of Legally Blonde, which was promoted by the school on social media. In the two minute promotional video from 2023 you can see him trying to act cool while walking with his new girlfriend in the hallway.

He swears, he wasn’t hooking up with her at the time. They magically fell in love right AFTER she graduated.

To be clear – a guy like this could NEVER get laid on his own.

But he puts on a cop’s uniform and feels power. But even then, he’s still pretty goofy looking.

So women his own age were a lot harder to get. But younger girls thought he was the “cool” cop who didn’t just arrest bad guys, he talked to them about their personal lives and did the school play with them. It instantly made him more attractive to them.

According to the internal affairs investigation into him, he informed the chief in 2013 that he was dating his ex-wife Beatrice, but failed to mention that they had been dating from the moment she graduated in 2012.

The new girl Mackenzie was his babysitter while she was still a student at Triton, and still married to the former student Beatrice he groomed and impregnated multiple times. After Kenzie graduated they started seeing each other romantically in the summer, but he knew she was going off to school. However, despite the 20 year age difference he was madly in love with her and they’re still seeing each other to this day. According to her friends she basically lives at his house and helps raise his kids now. During the internal affairs investigation he admitted all of this and recognized that it was a bad look. He had first met Kenzie in middle school, and said that his involvement in the theater program was a “cool way to kind of grow more relationships and show me in a different light than being a police officer.”

 

Yet he still wore his police uniform in the promotional video.

Almost as if it’s a power dynamic.

The investigation also showed that he engaged with middle school students in a “secret club,” while interacting with them on social media.

He’s not like the other cops – he’s a cool cop.

Other students interviewed by police said that they recognized that Lucey “appeared to be in the position of a higher figure,” and said that she thought it was odd that her friend called him by his first name during the school play, instead of by Officer Lucey.

In other words, he knew that because of his status as a small town cop the girls at the high school would look at him as an authority figure and be attracted to that. It was like shooting fish in a barrel for him.

Kenzie’s friends pointed out how she really knew her way around his house, and said it was because she was his babysitter.

His ex-wife started figuring out that something didn’t smell right when she found a personal note written to him by the student (his now girlfriend), and confronted him about it while she was drunk. He preemptively went to his boss (the chief) to let her know about the party in case his ex-wife went to her first.

Lucey claims that by July of 2023 Kenzie had “filled the role as a female figure” for his children, even though his ex-wife was still living with him. He admits to seeing her romantically over that summer, said that he knew the perception wouldn’t be good, and realized that she was going away to school so it probably wasn’t gonna work out.

This is when a non-creepy, emotionally mature adult would tell the girl he can’t see her anymore. Ya know, because she’s 18 and has a right to go out into the world, meet new people, and have her own life. Because an emotionally mature adult recognizes that that’s healthy for 18 year olds to do. Especially when he should’ve realized it was gonna look twice as bad due to the fact that his current wife was also a former theater student he groomed before pursuing a sexual relationship immediately after graduation.

Not John Lucey III. He “intended to continue the relationship,” because he “knew it was real.”

Grow up bro, this isn’t a Disney movie. The feelings you’re feeling are not real. You just enjoy the feeling of being wanted because it feeds your narcissism. You’re a goober who doesn’t go for women his own age because he doesn’t have power over them. They don’t idolize and look up to him like 18 year olds who have never left the north shore do. Once they grow up like his ex-wife they start to see through him and realize just how mediocre he is and he just starts over again.

According to her friends, Kenzie is basically living with him now, and he’s “super jealous” of other guys.

Due to her relationship with Lucey, Kenzie has basically been isolated from her friends, who do not approve of them being together. His retired ex-police chief father reportedly “freaked out” and said he was going to jail, but now says he’s cool with it. His Mom was not happy with the relationship at first, but says she “better understands” it now. His brother, who appears to be the smartest one in the family, does not approve of them at all and called it what it is – “creepy.”

Lucey was removed as School Resource Officer in the summer of 2024, and resigned in October, rather than be fired. He now works at the Lowe’s in Newington, NH.

But wait, it gets creepier. Lucey also has a Spotify channel under his musical name “JR3rd,” where he makes AI music and has a whole album.

One of the songs is called “Fairy Tale,” and contains the lyrics, “so she exits stage right and all I could do is chase her after all we been through.” Another song is entitled “Worth It,” which describes his divorce and new relationship which he cheers on by saying “it was worth it.”

Keep in mind, Triton is the same school district that once employed Kimberly Fair before I wrote about her in 2021 and she decided to become best friends with Kate Peter, the Fake Victim, and Jennifer McCabe.

John Lucey might not have broken any laws, but it doesn’t make him any less of a creep. It’s not illegal to have sex with 18 year old girls, but guys his age who still prey on girls that young do it for one reason – it’s easier. I don’t even know what I’d talk to a person that age about because my lived experience of 43 years on this earth is so vastly different from someone born in 2005. But people like John Lucey aren’t with girls this young because they’re in love with them. They date girls this young because it feeds their ego.
