Boston City Councillor Who Live Streamed Shooting Victim’s Corpse Instead Of Calling Police Has Attempted To Defund The Police, Is Close Friends With Monica Cannon-Grant
This is Boston City Councillor Julia Mejia.
The “community activist” who got on the council by winning by exactly one vote in 2019, is known for her self-promotion on social media, which includes doing tik toks with her daughter.
She’s a long time friend and supporter of Monica Cannon-Grant, a despicable racist running a fraudulent non-profit that employs violent criminals, who has been denounced by DA Rachael Rollins and City Councillor Lydia Edwards.
“This heifer running against Ayanna Pressley. This one here with the white husband. At some point we gonna have to have a conversation with black folks who get in a conversation with white folks and then forget that they black.”
“If white vagina and white penises jeopardize your melanin then we need you to sit in the back of the classroom and this ain’t your part of the show and you don’t get to talk right now.”
“Regardless of how many white penises you ride, and I ain’t mad at you sis because if you riding that mother f***er for a credit score get you that house boo. Get you that 40 acres and a mule. Just don’t forget you a n***er.”
“He getting pink uncooked vagina. I get it, I get it. But what I need you to do though is keep your mouth shut on black shit if you ain’t ready to be black”
“I’ll be damned if I let this melanin adjacent woman, whose proximity to white supremacy is so disgusting, be disrespectful to our congresswoman because white folks have convinced her that she was better. She’s an exceptional negro? Is that what it is?”
Despite hearing all that (I personally contacted her multiple times for comment on whether she denounced Monica’s violent anti-interracial marriage hate speech) Julia still went to the opening of the Violence in Boston Center in Hyde Park, where gang bangers threatened to shoot us for protesting against systemic racism. She and Monica were both honored by Boston Magazine as “people who gave us hope” for 2020.
.@BostonMagazine I am incredibly humbled and honored by your acknowledgment. We've been working hard to ensure we prove why that ONE vote mattered. I love my job & the opportunity to serve our city. Thank you again for seeing & uplifting our efforts! #lovehttps://t.co/LrgRIQny5B

Last week Live Boston reported that dedicated father and veteran Brandon Williams was shot and killed in Mattapan.
Julia Mejia lives in this neighborhood and heard the gunshots, but instead of calling 911 or attempting to help the man, she began doing what she always does – live streaming for attention. She was able to get behind the police tape in an active crime scene, filmed his corpse, and reportedly touched him and other objects in the crime scene. She flaunted her power as a city councilor, refused to cooperate with police, and further upset the victim’s family by falsely claiming that he was still alive.
After getting shit from the victim’s family she deleted the stream, but the next morning she reached out to the Globe without speaking to the family:
Rather than use the interview as a means to advocate for the victim and his family Mejia used the Globe interview to further promote herself, including toting multiple other homicides she’s been involved with in what we can only describe as a sad attempt to gain credibility. She then went on to retweet the self-serving article with the utterly inappropriate hashtag “#shookfromlastnight”
“This is the new normal. Nobody is immune to this when it comes to homicide,’' she said. “Just because you are a city official doesn’t mean anything. We are all dodging the same bullets. We are living in fear in the city of Boston.” #shookfromlastnighthttps://t.co/0atWxJXzP2

Keep in mind that while purporting to be “shook from last night” due to the murder that occurred on her street, she has used her position on the City Council to advocate for defunding the police.
Days later she posted a video on Facebook justifying her actions, explaining why she deleted the live stream, and claimed that she was just trying to “shed light” on the murder.
In the spirit of accountability, I wanted to apologize to those who were exposed to the post I shared last week. My sincere condolences to my neighbors as they grief their loss. I responded as a parent, a neighbor and someone who uses social media to amplify the realities.

As if the only way for the public to know about a murder is to follow her on Tik Tok and watch her tamper with evidence and film a corpse before the family was notified of his death. This ridiculous “apology” makes sense when you see that her inspiration for the video was disgraced former State Senator Dianne Wilkerson, who was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison for sticking bribes in her bra during a FBI sting.
The family was not impressed.
Julia Mejia should resign. She exploited a victim’s family for personal gain (internet clout), disrupted a crime scene, and is in bed with a dangerous, violent racist named Monica Cannon-Grant. She is unfit to serve in this capacity moving forward.
