Cape Cod Con-Artist Gina Clark Cried Her Way Out Of Doing Community Service For Stealing $150K From Victims Whose Children Died And Now She’s Leeching Off The Government

This is Gina Clark from Barnstable, who is perhaps Cape Cod’s most infamous ratchet and the personification of pure evil.

If Marlboro Reds had a face.

Very few people in Cape Cod are unfamiliar with her story. But here it is in a nusthell:

  • She was gonna start a nail salon in 2007, but she realized that would take actual work and probably would fail because she doesn’t know how to run a business, and the economy was really bad back then. So she decided to start a “non-profit” instead.
  • Wicked Local did a puff piece on her non-profit, Touched By Angels, which was designed on paper to help middle income families who needed money because of an unforeseen tragedy, and didn’t qualify for government assistance.

  • The organization picked one local family a month going through a tough time (most often the sudden death of a child), held a fundraiser for them, and was supposed to write them checks for 80% of the money raised.
  • She raised over $215,195.65, and gave out $21,563.57. One family, whose son died of cancer, got only $200 despite a huge fundraiser with tons of raffle tickets being sold by Clark. She claimed she was sad that they would accuse her.
  • The families who were swindled by her have a YouTube channel with many of their interviews here
  • She never paid herself a salary, and thus didn’t have to pay any taxes, but added over a hundred thousand dollars to her bank account in lump sums. Her explanation –  I have an angel in my life, a dear relative who has been very generous in helping me.
  • She never filed her taxes, and this was an actual quote she gave explaining why: The accountant has just been so backed up.  He does the tax form filings for his clients in alphabetical order and Touched by Angels begins with a T.
  • She had a $5,000+ monthly mortgage, two Harleys, an Escalade, a Mercedes, and her husband is a fireman. When asked how she could afford all that she said, That’s nobody’s business.
  • She began to be investigated by the AG’s office in 2010, and was arrested in 2011 for shoplifting, claiming she didn’t realize she had a bunch of unpaid clothes on the bottom of her cart. She plead guilty.
  • According to victims her employees (many of who did not end up getting paid) called “Angel reps,” would target people who were in the news due to a tragedy, “the more dramatic the circumstance, the larger the haul for the charity.”
  • She solicited one grieving father at his own wake and got him to sign a contract with her.
  • She tried to self-identify with victims by telling them that she started her charity after her own personal tragedy happened, in which her husband accidentally backed over her child in the driveway and killed him. That story was completely made up.
  • When she was arrested on the shoplifting charge her bail was $25,000. Her husband borrowed that money from a Weymouth man, and had it returned after Gina was sentenced to 4-5 years in prison in 2013. Her husband never paid back that money to the man (despite getting it back from the court) and he was charged with larceny.
  • Her scam was unique in that she stole money from both the people donating and the victims who had just lost a loved one in a tragedy.

The most twisted of all the stories is what she did to the Manchuk family, who lost their 16 year old daughter when she was struck by a car and killed:

With one family, the Manchuks, she brought this manipulation to another level. Crystal Manchuk died after being struck by a car as she crossed Route 28 in Hyannis in July 2008. The loss hit the family hard, Kim Manchuk, the girl’s mother, testified.
At Crystal’s wake, Kim collapsed in the parking lot of the funeral home. Then a woman she didn’t know grabbed her. “She told me I shouldn’t cry, that I can’t be crying, that my boys were watching and that Crystal didn’t cry,” Manchuk testified.

Later, at the girl’s funeral, Clark pushed a stone into Manchuk’s hand, stating that Crystal had held the stone as she died. Clark was near the scene of the accident that killed Crystal. She, her husband and some family friends were riding motorcycles nearby and stopped, but she didn’t go near the dying girl, according to multiple witnesses.

Still, after several meetings with the emotionally drained mother, Clark got Manchuk to sign the contract to raise funds on behalf of the family. Then the donations rolled in. According to figures compiled by the attorney general’s office, between Crystal’s funeral and Oct. 15, 2008 – the last day Touched by Angels collected donations on behalf of the family – the charity raked in $33,255.70, its largest single-family haul. The Manchuks should have received $26,604.56 – 80 percent of the take. Instead they got $2,839, more than $23,000 less.

She’s pure evil. There’s no other way to put it. And her husband never went to jail somehow, despite obviously knowing what was going on and profiting off of it as well.

She was forced to pay $148K in restitution to the victims she swindled after she was released from jail in 2017. But hardly any of it has been paid. Here’s her excuse:

At a restitution hearing Thursday, Clark, through her attorney, said after her release from prison she got a job working as a waitress for 20 to 30 hours a week. When Judge Gary Nickerson asked why she was not trying to work more, attorney Seth Rogan said Clark was concerned she would lose the Social Security payments she has received for about a decade for post-traumatic stress disorder.

Yup. She doesn’t want to work more than 20 hours a week because then the taxpayers will stop writing her checks for her “PTSD.” Whoever the fake shrink is who diagnosed her with that should be fed to the pigs. It’s enraging that this vile snatch and sniff is not only collecting my hard earned money, but refusing to work more to pay back the people who she destroyed because she’s scamming the government now too.

She also would come into court dressed in expensive clothing, while claiming to be destitute. This was while she was wearing expensive jewelry, and having two cars and two Harleys.

No fucks were given.

Well, she was back in the news again yesterday:

A Marstons Mills woman convicted of embezzling money from a charity set up to help families in need will no longer be required to do community service. After speaking privately with attorneys during a restitution hearing Wednesday in Barnstable Superior Court, Judge Robert Rufo said Gina Clark no longer had to do the volunteer work because it would be “counterproductive to her medical treatment.” Clark had been ordered to perform 16 hours of community service each month as a condition of her probation. At the beginning of the hearing, Assistant Attorney General Karla Zarbo asked to talk privately with the judge and Clark’s attorney, Seth Roman, about Clark’s financial disclosure form.

Clark initially sat at the defendant’s table while the three talked. Ten minutes in, she joined them, and five minutes later, she sat back down at the table and started crying. Clark is currently required to pay $400 a month in restitution and, during a Nov. 7 hearing, Zarbo said she had not provided an updated financial disclosure form. At Wednesday’s hearing, Zarbo said Clark had submitted an updated form and that it should be renewed annually. Some of the families have charged that Clark continues to live in luxury and that it could take her dozens of years to repay the money.

How stupid is this judge and the Assistant AG? This woman is a professional con-artist. She can cry on a whim. She doesn’t really have PTSD. She’s just a good old fashioned grundlehog. Whatever medical treatment she’s getting is also fake. She’s conning whoever the doctor is because this is who she is.

This is the same woman who just two months ago tried to get her probation terms eased, because she couldn’t afford to pay $400 a month in restitution, and didn’t wanna submit to drug and alcohol testing. Meanwhile this is how she showed up to court:

New haircut, new clothes, fresh tan, covered in jewelry. As usual.

Up until this hearing the justice system had acted fairly in my opinion. If you put her away for 20 years then she can’t pay back restitution. And it sounded like the judges weren’t falling for her bullshit. Then she started crying yesterday and they gave in like idiots. Simple solution – take all her shit and sell it. If you owe this much money to people then you don’t get to have nice things. You have to live in poverty for the rest of your miserable existence until every penny is paid back.

I believe in Karma though, and this bitch will get hers.
