Teachers Speak Out After MTA Board Unanimously Votes To Force Children To Wear Masks In School
Editor’s Note: We will be talking about this issue tonight on the Live Show, and we will have open lines for any parent who wants to voice their opinion on kids being forced to wear masks in school. Click here to subscribe to our YouTube channel and tune in at 9 PM.
My 6 year old daughter is about to enter first grade and has never been inside her school and seen the smiling faces of her teachers and classmates. She missed the first half of the year because our School Committee wasn’t creative enough to figure out a way to get schools opened. Instead they chose the cowardly and lazy way out – forcing children to sit at home in isolation in front of a computer and calling it an education.
Like many kids she hates wearing masks in school and was looking forward to her first normal year as a child in school after she was robbed of one last year. But the Massachusetts Teacher’s Association, our local school committee, and superintendent are trying to make sure that kids like her remain miserable, and if we don’t fight back now they will be successful.
Kids have never been in danger of dying from COVID, and a grand total of zero children in Massachusetts have died from the virus. Massachusetts has one of the highest vaccination rates in the country, with almost 2/3 of the population (including children who cannot get vaccinated) already getting both shots. Although there was been an uptick in cases, there has been no corresponding uptick in deaths because the virus is much less deadly to vaccinated individuals. Vaccines are readily available anywhere you go, and anyone who wants to get vaccinated can.
But if you thought for one second that the MTA had any intention of following the science or data by letting your children breathe in school this year, then you underestimate just how much they hate your children.
By unanimous vote, the MTA Board is calling on @massgovernor to implement a mandatory mask requirement for staff & students in preK-higher ed. #maedu #COVID19MA https://t.co/Bzb6ZiVM0U

By “unanimous vote” the MTA Board has voted to force your kids faces to be muzzled in school. Who’s on the MTA Board? That’s top secret. The website only lists President Merrie Najimy and Vice President Max Page. Their board of directors link is password protected.
Najimy was fired from her job as a teacher in Concord in 2013, and Page has never worked in the public schools as a career hack at UMass-Amherst. They do not represent the majority of teachers.
Union Members whose dues pay Najimy’s undisclosed salary were never consulted on this issue, and are speaking out against this in large numbers, as wearing masks in schools makes it harder for them to teach and communicate with students.
It’s so refreshing to see teachers leading the charge against this. If you were a vaccinated teacher would you want to be masked during the school day? The union exists to make your job easier, and by forcing you to wear a mask it does the opposite. We need more teachers to speak out against this and do it openly.
There were some teachers who were advocating for it, like Jennifer Alyse.
Jennifer Sinnott is a charter school teacher who does not believe in science, and is undermining the government’s efforts to get people vaccinated. If the message is sent that the vaccine doesn’t protect you from COVID then people are less likely to get the vaccine. She is pushing pseudo-science that paper cloth masks will somehow stop the spread more effectively than a vaccine. She’s spreading misinformation about children dying from masks in order to keep your child masked because she enjoys watching children being abused. She is a monster, and should be treated as such. This is a virus that preys on the elderly and morbidly obese, all of who can get the vaccine. If she really wanted to save lives she would be urging the government to round up all the fat people, put them in camps, and force them to lose weight. But she’s not.
Wonder why. Instead she wants your children to be masked so she can remain “safe.”
Masks don’t work. We’ve known that for quite some time, and the Biden administration stated as much in those exact words yesterday. Don’t take my word for it though, just listen to President Biden’s top COVID advisor Dr. Michael Osterholm.
Joe Biden’s top covid advisor just went on CNN and admitted the masks people are wearing don’t work against covid. As I’ve been saying, this is all just cosmetic theater. https://t.co/bB58Up5GXN

“We know today that many of the face cloth coverings that people wear are not very effective in reducing any of the virus movement in or out.”
Duh. It’s a piece of paper you can buy at the gas station. If it worked then states with mask mandates would see less transmission of COVID. Instead the opposite happened, and the solution that these people wisely came to is that forcing children to smother themselves again will somehow be the solution.
Diane Waddell is an elementary school music teacher in Andover who is petrified of COVID.
She chooses to live in an irrational state of fear, believing that her unvaccinated son will catch COVID and die if other people’s children are not forced to wear masks. Rather than just having him wear a mask, or home schooling him if she’s so afraid that he will die, she wants your children to smother their faces instead.
Ironically she’s worried about the spread of disinformation, while actively spreading disinformation.
School Committees in Boston, Amherst-Pelham, Somerville, and Lexington have already voted to force children to wear masks in school. Make no doubt about it – your School Committee will do it too if you don’t make noise about this and let them know it’s unacceptable. Find their emails and phone numbers, contact them all, and show up to your next School Committee meeting with all your like minded friends to make it clear that your child will not wear a mask in school. If you remain silent then you’ve given up your right to be taken seriously when you complain about it in September.
For Wachusett parents, there is a School Committee meeting on August 16 at the high school. I would urge all parents who object to this to show up and demand that no mask mandates be put in place. The only reason they partially reopened schools in January was because parents wrote hundreds of emails that are required to be read out loud at the School Committee meeting that month, demanding that they not push back the start. They work for us, and any School Committee member who votes for this unnecessary pseudo-science will be voted out in their next election.
